So he conflated the enemy fire on 3/12/69 into his report for 3/13/69, and once again stole someone else's exploits for his own use? _________________ US Army Security Agency

Nice job.
Is there anyway to find out the unknown OiC of PCF 94? Who might it have been? And when are you going to post the documentation, because as the MSM says the naval documentation is always right. _________________ Home in Lubbock Texas, home of the Vietnam Project at Texas Tech University. Gotta scan and post these docs, Chief, or highlight the key URLs. Nice work. The noose tightens.
p.s. any luck finding damage report for the 3-boat March 13? _________________ -- Bill in Seattle |

Not this one. His damage report doesn't mention how the damage happened or when. This is just an explanation as to how both boats were damaged. But, saying that PCF-51 (Thurlow) was damaged by gun fire by the media does not prove there was gunfire on 13 MAR. In fact, the COMNAVFORV files disprove that. Nothing was written about the 13 MAR incident in the files. It was an insignificant event for COMNAVFORV.
Interesting, though. The battle on the 12th of March was full of "calling in gunfire support and air support". If Kerry was under fire on the 13th, then where are the Helicopters, planes, or gunfire support orders? They were there on the 12th.

I meant the hostile fire "going from" the 12th to the 13th. _________________ US Army Security Agency

Is this the facility in Lubbock, TX?
I've heard it's excellent and had wished that we could find someone who could cruise through there and find out what they had. _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~

Yes, Navy_Navy_Navy, this is in Lubbock.
Glad I was able to help Navy Chief by pointing him to the Vietnam Archives, but I will say that the site took a little getting used to! I have a DSL connection, but was still getting "timed out" and had to query the search engine again and again! I tried "Swift Boats" "Operation SEALORD" and "OPERATION MARKET TIME" without a lot of success until I decided to enter "CTE" and suddenly got 245 hits! Wow! The stuff was coming out of the woodwork
This takes some patience to work with the site. The nice thing, however, is that the finding aids are posted so you have an idea what is in each collection. So--hope all of you can find all sorts of good documentation! |

Thanks Navychief and Navy Wife! Great work!
Glad the bullet damage can now be logically explained - and documented! |
