Bob Beckel was just on Fox News calling JOHN O'NEILL a "liar" because his boat had bullet holes in it and he said there was no enemy fire on the March 13th incident. I cant believe the commentators just let these talking heads get away with this. Beckel cant even get his own story straight, and obviously isnt even informed enough to know who John O'Neill is. It is simply pathetic.
Why cant Commentators on news shows call people out when they are spewing obvious lies and distorting the facts???

Because they are lazy and don't research the topic.
Or, because they support Kerry and don't want to.
Sad, but true: Real reporters, journalists who seek facts, the Who, Where, When, Why, and How of a story are rare these days. _________________ USNR, 1965-1969, LT(jg) |

Perhaps Mr. Beckel needs to read this latest missive from "NavyChief"...

This post is the missing piece into the action that occurred on 12 MAR 69 and why PCF-51 (Thurlow's boat) and PCF-94 (Kerry's boat) already were damaged. It is interesting how no media bothered to investigate this more thouroughly, they just assumed because both boats showed damage on 13 MAR 69 that Kerry's story was backed up.
Well, not so fast there. Here is what happened on 12 MAR 69 according to the COMNAVFORV files which included all source reporting (In other words, not just by one person's point of view or boat for that matter. Includes reporting and intelligence sources):
The Cua Lon River was the scene of another raid that encountered hostile fire on the 12th (Mar 69). PCF's 94 and 23 took MSF troops up river to WQ 110 728 where they were landed without incident and began moving to the west. At the same time PCF's 51 and 43 stood by to provide cover. As the sweep progressed PCF 51 probed north of the Cai Nhap Canal and PCF's 94 and 23 probed up the Cai Ngai River to WQ 155 750. Following these probes light small arms fire was recieved from WQ 085 705 and was immediately suppressed. The three Swifts then headed up the Cai Nhap Canal to WQ 082 750 where two of three watermines detonated, one throwing up a 50-foot column of mud and water. Heavy enemy fire was taken from both canal banks and could not be suppressed. The PCF's cleared to the south and picked up the MSF unit at WQ 086 732. The enemy positions were taken under mortar fire and artillery and air support was called in. A group of 20 additional MSF was brought to the mouth of the Cau Lon from the USS WASHTENAW COUNTY (LST-1166) by LCVP. They were taken by PCF's 94 and 43 to WQ 086 730 where a sweep lasting about one hour sighted nine Viet Cong and detained one female suspect. Other results included five structures, 14 sampans, and a large junk destroyed. Three PCF's received minor damage and one crewman was slightly wounded.
GLOSSARY FOR TERMS:
MSF = Mobile Strike Forces - mercenaries who deploy and go anywhere (Always accompanied by multiple Special Forces or "Advisors")
LCVP = Landing Craft, Large (WASHTENAW COUNTY had several of these to deploy from her large doors which would open and boat could be launched)
NOTES: PCF-94 and PCF-23 were taken under light small arms fire during this 12 MAR 69 mission. Afterwards, two of three watermines detonated, one throwing up a 50-foot column of mud and water. Heavy enemy fire was taken from both canal banks and could not be suppressed. Three PCF's (PCF-51 - Thurlow's, PCF-23 - Rood's, and PCF-94 - unknown OINC) received minor damage and one crewman was slightly wounded. Here is where the damage to PCF-23, PCF-51, and PCF-94 is recorded. The day before the infamous 13 MAR incident with Rassmann. Thurlow's boat had received bullet holes in this encounter, not on the 13 MAR 69 incident. The bullet holes were already there and damage to PCF-94 was already there.
Side note: LTjg Rood was wounded in the face on this mission, otherwise he would have been with the PCF-23 crew on the 13 MAR 69 mission instead of LTjg Chenoweth. Chenoweth's normal boat (PCF-93) was under repair at An Thoi and was tasked to take the PCF-23 boat on the 13 MAR 69 incident. However, PCF-23 had already been damaged, so the next morning (0500 hours) he had to lay to and render repairs to the starboard engine. The rest of the boats went on up to the mission points on 13 MAR 69. Chenoweth finally got PCF-23 running again and went to the mouth of the canal, where he waited 3 hours for the other boats to return. This was a rare incident, where one PCF was by itself. The only reason was an emergency situation, plus PCF-23 wasn't very far from a friendly village where our troops were.
Other: Kerry was not on PCF-94 for the 12 MAR 69 mission. There was a relief crew onboard. He probably wasn't too happy when he got onboard the morning of 13 MAR 69 that his boat was damaged and not fixed yet. PCF-23, PCF-51, and PCF-94 had stayed at the USS WASHTENAW COUNTY from the 12 MAR mission. Chenoweth, Thurlow, and Kerry left that morning for the 13 MAR mission from the Wash County with MSF and Rassmann onboard. A normal OINC might have insisted on sending a damage report regarding his boat, had he been on it during the action which caused the damage. This is why Kerry's PCF-94 report didn't go out until after the 13 MAR incident. |

noticed this morning that some air time on F&F was filled with Fox employees & trivial subjects. Wondering if this, the cancellations, are a little deeper than what we're seeing. Also, Scarborough, is getting the same treatment, abeit a different matter, from the Washington insiders about not appearing on his show.
Ps. although Scarborough' book & discussions the last few night regarding the US going bankrupt, if spending is not curtailed, raised the hair on the back of my neck. I'd still rather know about it so these elected professionals can be held accountable(am I dreaming?) |

They also said Beckel is a political consultant for Fox News. How do paid consultants get away with telling blatant lies? Maybe it's time to get the email machine going again.
Here's one email address: comments@foxnews.com
I know there were addresses on other threads for Roger Ailes, and others who might be interested in our feedback. |

Sounds like Democrats are running for cover since the light of truth is shining so brightly from Fox news. They don't like being being fair or balanced.

Doesn't it cancel out like a double negative when you are called a liar by a proven liar? _________________ Everytime he had a choice, Kerry chose to side with communists rather than the United States. |

Someone needs to contact Brent Bozell at the Media Research Center regarding this exposure of the MSM and determine what work can be done together. |

I certainly agree with you that the article by Navy Chief should get to Brent Bozell. Here is what I got off their web site:
