Hi Guys,
1st, thanks for all that you've done in helping me learn a little more about Vietnam, and John Kerry.
I need some help in answering a common claim against the Swifties. It usually goes like this:
The U.S. Navy made its determination of these events within days or weeks of their occurrence, not 30 years later, and that official record has been in existence for the whole time since. Some of the bush swifties either signed off on that record at the time or at some point since made statements supporting that record.
What's the best way to respond to this?
Thanks,
Terry |

I think you'll find that none of Kerry's fellow PCF officer were aware of what he put in his after action reports at the time. It wasn't until the book "Tour of Duty" came out that they became aware that Kerry had "sexed up" those reports. As far as supporting Kerry in the past, several of them came to his defense when he was accused of a war crime for shooting that lone VC in the back. They were not supporting any of the medals or after action reports. _________________ JJC
