On tonight's show O'Reilly said (and I paraphrase, but very close to a quote) "Kerry was not aware these SwiftVets attacks were coming" - referring to him using Vietnam during his convention speech. I honestly dont think O'Reilly has PERSONALLY read "Unfit For Command". Reason why - The book makes a pretty big deal of Kerry calling Admiral Hoffman and pretty much begging him to not go forward with the SwiftVets, and trying to cut a deal with him. I dont think O'Reilly has read the book, did he have some "assistants" or whatever research the stuff...of course. But did he personally read it? I highly doubt it. I e-mailed him about it. I'd be willing to wager he has not personally read the book.
Update: O'Reilly said that his show took 3 weeks to investigate before reporting, unlike other news groups that did so within 24 hours...Haha..apparently Mr. O'Reilly is forgetting the horrible insults he flung at the SwiftVets within the first few days |

I only caught a little bit of BOR tonite, but at the end, he showed a little tape of his folks trying to get Jane Fonda to agree to come on, and she was saying no and don't hold your breath and he's too rude...etc. Bill ends with, "Well, Ms Fonda, if you can cuddle up to the North Vietnamese you can certainly come on my show" -- or something to that effect. Ha! (he always gets testy if someone won't come on.)
Other than this one comment, I am duly disappointed in his treatment of the mission of the SBVFT-- which he doesn't get at all --- YET. |

I happened to hear Bloviatin' Bill tonight. I was just too busy working to hunt down the remote.
No, I don't think he read the book either. If he had, he would have been
too moved by the information to be so indifferent. He assigned the read, or perhaps the skim to some staffers and let them give him the gist.
Never have cared for big, rude Bill. He doesn't just "bloviate", he
BLOWS!

I agree, I don't think he read it, either.
He is so lame. What a self-deluded egomaniac.
I predict: His ratings are going to start to drop like a stone. Drudge always posts the ratings of the cable news/opinion shows. I'm not sure how often, but keep an eye out for it. Last time I saw it he was no longer #1. Hannity & Colmes was.
Since his ratings are all he really cares about, this will be seared, seared in him. |

Bill O'Reilly is heading down Dan Rather's road - ignoring facts so he can appear to be 'fair and balanced'. He's more concerned about his ratings than with giving America the truth.
Hannity has come out solidly on the side of the Swiftvets and his ratings are soaring. Near as I can figure, Colmes is only there to illustrate how dense, desperate and deceptive Kerry's supporters are - and he's doing a great job. |

Rush has it right. He states up front that his show is about him and
what he thinks and you're there to make him look good. If you're
a liberal and can be entertaining then welcome aboard.
O'Reilly is the same way, but instead of saying up front that the show
is about him and what he thinks, he comes up with the "fair and
balanced" stuff. _________________ Tin Can Sailor |

O'Reilly's too busy reading his own book over and over again to read anyone else's. I'm sure he has his little minions running around reading a chapter here and a chapter there, and then summarizing the contents for him. That way he'll look so well informed when he speaks of it. |

Well, he better go to Plan B. Try reading the book and do the requisite research so he looks like a "journalist" instead of a self-important wind-bag. "Kerry never knew the Swift Boat Vets were out there." Then Kerry is an amnesiac moron, with dangerous selective memory.
O'Reilly tries so hard to be "middle of the road" that he is constantly getting run over.
Middle of the road = Road Kill.
O'Reily: it's what for supper. |
