Anyone thinking you could get anywhere on the Corprate pressure end of this saga. Here is a link to a page detailing Sumner Redstone's disclosed political contributions. Note that there is more than 1 page here, so continue after the first page...

This doesn't include contributions from the Viacom PAC, which gives mainly to democrats and Kerry. |

Being a lawyer, I resemble that remark ---
Recent polls reveal that only 16% think Bush's TANG service is relevant -- guess which 16% the Moveon.org barking moonbats. Wasting all this time thinking they have something that is insignificant to the majority of voters. |

Its comical. CBS is fighting tooth and nail to authenticate a memo that supposedly verifies a story that nobody cares about. To think tht they pushed it 2000 and must have believed that the only reaosn it didnt resonate because there was no smoking gun memo is just too ridiculous. They staked their professional credibility on this lame story.
Again, thank you swiftees. You really got into their heads with your efforts.

So CBS says they are going to clarify the situation.
Something like, "Let me make things perfectly clear--I am not a crook."
(Richard Nixon after Watergate)
Or maybe like the scene in the movie "Forrest Gump" where Forrest turns to the runners following him and says, "I think I'll go home now..." _________________ The traitor will crater! |

Actually what's holding it up is I'd emailed them and told them I'd send them a copy of Word '72 overnight. I guess they must still be waiting for it to arrive. |

All I can think of when I think of that secretary, bless her lil' ol' black heart (as we say in the South when we want to rip someone a new one without appearing to be rude) is my husband's dealings with the civil servant secretaries when he was in the Navy liason office at Pascagoula, MS.
I am sure there are competent civil servants out there but he had to deal with real ding-bats. He would come home so frustrated, and then, the poor guy, I would just laugh and laugh at his stories.
There was an old Regulus missile stuck in the ground out in front of one of his duty stations, and the standing joke was-- Q: What do civil servants have in common with that Regulus missile out front? A: You can't fire them, and they don't work.
I expect a statement from the 87 year old secretary at midnight (CST) responding to this posting. She will say, "I WILL NOT HAVE MY TYPING ATTACKED BY BLOGGERS IN PAJAMAS WHO STILL HAVE THEIR OWN TEETH, DAMMIT!"
Bless her heart. |

@ 11:59 Kerry was for the announcement @ 12:00 he was suddenly against it
@3:29 he was for it again, @ 3:30 he was against it
@4:59 he was for it yet again...
Waiting to see if he flip flops or an announcement if forthcoming _________________ A common mistake people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

Good one, cipher
Now that all their experts have evaporated they are relying on the memory of an 87 year secretary that at the very least hates the Bush administration policies.
Question: What came first, the interview with the secretary or the forging of the documents? |
