Love this idea! It would be interesting to see what Kerry does in the face of "A Clear and Present Danger"! Like all liars he'd be looking over his shoulder and probably stub his toe approaching the podium, and request another Purple Heart in the service to his country. I hope this gets MSM coverage and they give him what he deserves. Steve Z wrote: | Someone should suggest that President Bush show up and sit in the back of the audience. After all, he is an honorably discharged "veteran" of the National Guard, and has every right to attend their conference.
I wonder who would get more cheers if he came! |

I just do not get it. I could never shake Kerry's hand let alone raise by hands in applause for this man. I remember when my husband retired in 2000 - I really tried talking him into at least waiting until 2001 so President Bush could sign his retirements orders...I was just glad that my letter of appreciation was not signed by Clinton. Maybe I am too much of a right winger - I just don't know.
I had problems just standing at formal functions when they mentioned Clinton's name...I would never be able to stand at any function if Kerry was elected CIC of our Armed Forces - guess I should be glad that my husband is retired so I wouldn't embarass him at any military functions in the future.
I truly am shocked at these vets and their implied support of him when he walks in the room. I do not expect any difference from the National Guard. For some reason they applaud Kerry - maybe not with such great enthusiam...but they still applaud him. I just do not get it. Respect for Kerry - NEVER. Applaud Kerry - NEVER. |
I'm with you on these things.... I could never, never shake his hand or Clinton's.... I've never even used the title 'president' in front of what's his names' name (Clin....) and I wouldn't use it if he were standing in front of me. He made a mockery of the office and so is Kerry. I would never go to an event to see Clin.... or Kerry... (except to carry a protest sign); I get nauseated if I think about it to much.... _________________ Stevie

He's trying to warm them up, but initially they didn't applaud his Vegas joke.
Then he started saying thanks to the NG leadership to assure of some applause.
They seem very COOL to him. _________________ America voted for solid LEADERSHIP and gave "W" a mandate to carry on.

DJ Kerry Says Bush `Living In A Fantasy World Of Spin'
LAS VEGAS (AP)--U.S. President George W. Bush is "living in a fantasy world of spin," failing to tell U.S. troops or the American people the truth about the situation in Iraq, Democratic challenger John Kerry told National Guard veterans Thursday.
Two days after Bush addressed the same group, Kerry said of the president, "I believe he failed the fundamental test of leadership" by failing to level with the veterans.
"Two days ago the president stood right where I'm standing and did not even acknowledge that more than 1,000 men and women have lost their lives in Iraq. He did not tell you that with each passing day we're seeing more chaos, more violence, more indiscriminate killings," Kerry said in remarks prepared for delivery to the National Guard Association of the United States.
"You deserve a president who will not play politics with national security, who will not ignore his own intelligence while living in a fantasy world of spin, and who will give the American people the truth about the challenge our brave men and women face on the front lines," the Democratic senator said.
Bush had told the group that Kerry has repeatedly changed and waffled on his own position on the Iraq war.
The president said Thursday that Kerry's approach has sent "the wrong signals" to U.S. troops, allies and enemies.
"The fellow I'm running against has had about eight positions on Iraq," Bush said while campaigning in Minnesota.
Bush holds a commanding lead over Kerry among veterans and their families. A recent AP-Ipsos poll said the president was the choice of 58% and Kerry 38%. .
Kerry also planned to mention an intelligence estimate prepared for Bush that painted a dark forecast of Iraq's future, The New York Times reported on its Web site. Kerry said a report in The New York Times on the estimate showed that Bush's "own intelligence officials have warned him for weeks that the mission in Iraq is in serious trouble." .
