Please see the "Wall St.Journal" OP/ED piece linked below.
For half a century, "News" has meant turning on the TV at 6 PM to watch one of three talking heads. They all said the same thing, and there was no countervailing view, except possibly an OP/ED piece in one of very few Non-Liberal newspapers, three days later.
A group such as "Swiftvets, or a story such as "Dan's Fairy Tales" couldn't gain traction. The Big Three would simply ignore, or demonize them.
That's gone, and we're a big part of it.
The news consumer now has alternatives. Even if CBS leads a story with " Swiftvets", a Republican-funded Anti-Kerry attack group.....", the viewer can simply search the term "Swiftvets", and arrive here seconds later.
Dan presented documents to the American public, and gave us his (Microsoft) Word that they were genuine. Within 24 hours, they had been examined by scores of real experts, and found to be bogus. Even now, Dan cannot understand how it can be that his (Microsoft) Word is being questioned. He spoke ex cathedra for decades, without dissent, for there was no channel for dissent.
The "Talking Heads" aren't dead, but they're on notice that their pronouncements WILL be examined, and challenged if false.
This is a wonderful time.
