Senator Bob Dole issued the following statement:

“As Chairman of the Bush-Cheney Veterans Coalition, and as a veteran, I call on John Kerry to demand that MoveOn.org take down their ad depicting a defeated American soldier.

It’s one thing to debate whether we should take the fight to the terrorists, but depicting an American soldier in effect surrendering in the battle against the terrorists is beyond the pale.

I cannot believe that John Kerry, who reminds us daily of his Vietnam service, would possibly approve the disgusting and demoralizing portrayal of American soldiers fighting for us in Iraq, Afghanistan and around the world.

John Kerry has raised doubts about our troops' ability to maintain security as well as Iraqi's ability to decide their own future through elections. He has called the allies in Iraq "window dressing." This is all reminiscent of his appearance before a Senate Committee in 1971 where he suggested with nothing but second hand information American GIs were committing atrocities and war crimes of the worst kind in Vietnam.

This defeatist attitude undermines the great progress and sacrifices of our men and women in the military and the contributions of our allies who are fighting against terror and standing up for freedom around the world.

The politics of pessimism that is being pursued by John Kerry and the extreme liberals demonstrates they are consumed by the past with nothing to offer but attacks on the President's agenda for creating a safer world.

John, say it isn’t so and denounce this latest effort to divide Americans.”

THE TRAITOR IS AT IT AGAIN!! Demoralizing our soldiers and giving our enemy a propaganda tool. I am sure the terrorists are grinning from ear to ear at this picture and saying "Look, we are defeating them".

Kerry will never ask moveon.org to remove the ad. He will remember how 1971 helped VC and the North to hold out. As long as he thinks it will help him he won't say a word. Also he would not want to tick off Soros.

Kerry is possibly the most un-American person I have ever seen. He wants us to lose just as he did in Vietnam. He will do anything in his power to bring down this country.

A lot of people in Mass (but not enough to vote him out of office) have known for years what Kerry is. The rest of the country is just finding out.
I believe he lacks honor.

I'm repeating myself but it can't be stressed enough. Kerry is at it again! This ad is truly despicable and we need to demand it be removed from the air. He wants to be Commander-in-Chief but he allows our troops to be usedand depicted in such a shameful manner? Yes that is Kerry same ole' Kerry. for those not around in the 70's take a good long look at who he is and what he does for his own personal agenda. cTW

How can we ever fight a war? Our enemy knows our weakness. It is not on the battlefield, it is right here at home.

This is the same trash that we went through when we came back, we could not talk about a year in our life, so tramatic, so intense and so personal. We just shut up and kept it inside for so many years. Now to those that say, why? A draft dodger or someone that went to Canada was considered smarter than us that served. Moveon.org will cause the same type of response to our men and women coming home from Irag and Afganastan and they should be destroyed. These people want America to fail or be called a loser.

Once a traitor always a traitor. I don't understand why he was not prosecuted for treason in 1971. I guess the same way that the Government is not going after Dan Rather on fraud charges.

This is so awful, I can't believe he would do it again. Well, *this* time we have some people who have experienced it before, and will NOT let it happen again. Our Vietnam Vets and others must stand up now & be counted & protect our soldiers that are fighting for our freedom, from this man who would be a janitor.

The first thing we're going to hear out of the Kerry Camp, is that George W. Bush refused to denounce the Swift Boat Ads, but chose to hide behind them, and using a duck-a-way tactic, denouncing of "all" the 527's!

I'm telling you, I can feel it in my bones, this smells bad.

It was announced by John O'neil on Hannity & Combs earlier this week, about a new "ad" coming out this week by the Swifties, and the scuttle-butt that was floating around before that by Mcauliff was there would be a new "ad" (1) coming out soon attacking Bush on his National Guard Records, but all of a sudden, there's another one that popped up here (with the Soldier). I feel that they were aware of the outcry that has already been heard, and they're going to use that (well, I'll denounce & pull this ad, if you do the same with the Swifties ads), even though Bush has nothing to do with this 527, it won't be hard to swing just the image of Bush pulling the strings.

The democrats have always been good at deverting attention to anything else, other than the issues.

I do hope & pray the new ad from the Swifties, really blisters the paint off of Kerry's Presidential dreams, and keeps the heat up on his already self-destructing campaign Very Happy
