>>For years it was said that Jane Fonda committed treason when she went to Vietnam in July 1972. In the late 1990s, with increasingly widespread use of the Internet, the charge became a staple of discussion by conservatives and veterans. However, their belief in Fonda’s criminality was not substantiated. We undertook to do just that, and laid out the definitive case against her in our 2002 book, “Aid and Comfort”: Jane Fonda In North Vietnam.
A current parallel has arisen in connection with the presidential candidacy of John Kerry. For the past several weeks, the Internet has been ablaze with charges—as yet unexplained, let alone legally substantiated— that by traveling to Paris for meetings with the North Vietnamese communists and their Viet Cong allies in 1970, Kerry violated American criminal statutes. Indeed, one well-intentioned group, Patriot Petitions, has disseminated a petition to President of the Senate Richard Cheney, Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, and Attorney General John Ashcroft, seeking Kerry’s prosecution.<<

Well, this could be very bad news for Kerry - the Holzers are like bulldogs when they get onto something.

The sad part is, the Justice Department won't do anything. They haven't for decades (regardless of who is in the Oval Office) and I doubt they'll have the courage now. The Holzer's original book on Hanoi Jane has been out since '02, and they've yet to act. _________________

At this point, I don't care what the Justice Dept. does or doesn't do. They and DoD can sit on their hands for all eternity and it just doesn't matter, any more.
The Holzers are going to be an addition to this effort toward bringing down any chance of this traitor seeing the inside of the White House, and that's all I care about. _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~

Can the charges be substantiated, through FBI or CIA documents, or Kerry's own words? _________________ The traitor will crater! |

Japan is extraditing or considering extraditing Bobby Fischer for playing in that Yugoslavian Chess match during sanctions.
See this article
http://www.indystar.com/articles/5/173063-2085-010.html
The former chess great is wanted in the United States for violating international sanctions against Yugoslavia in 1992.
If the shoe fits for Bobby Fischer... it surely fits for Kerry.

Kerry's own words for some, FBI records for the other. Sadly, those records are classified and can only be released with Kerry's permission. Or with a subpoena once probable cause has been provided that those records contain actionable evidence. _________________

Just like with a lot of things distasetul, sometimes it takes a bellyfull before the puking starts.
With all the replays of Vietnam era sentiment and resultant public disgust, the revivals of anti-war efforts, but misplaced on the war on terror, the public could get a belly full this time.
I'm tickled the left is exposing itself in such a way. A clear line of sight, allows for the public to draw a better bead. _________________ said Democratic Chairman Terry McAuliffe. "It is inexcusable to mock service and sacrifice."

I think this refers to the internet chatter to date.
The Holzers point out that Kerry's sworn
testimony to Congress is sufficient evidence
of his guilt.
I agree that the DOJ will do nothing. Fortunately,
another trial is in progress, and its jury returns a
verdict on 2004-11-02.
That jury needs this information. We all can see
to it that they get it. |

Wouldn't an interview with the Holzters be something FOX would want to do as a follow-up to the Paris story? I've been a little concerned that it hasn't been mentioned today, maybe a few emails prodding them might be in order. _________________ Deborah

Speaking of secret things, even if the DOJ were
inclined to prosecute, I just saw elsewhere a
speculation that Kerry might be immune due to
a secret pardon by Carter. If so, exposing that
might be as useful as an indictment. Alas things
aren't apt to reach that point. The matter is in the
hands of the electorate. |

Can pardons be secret? Couldn't someone file a FOIA suit for Carter's pardon files? Thats a can of worms that might get some media attention. _________________ Deborah
