Would full disclosure even have a chance to be brought up?
I am looking forward to them, btw, Kerry will be given enough rope to hang himself ..... on many fronts. _________________ "I served admirably in Vietnam" John Kerry

If Kerry brings up Bush's guard service...I would whip out the SF-180 and ask Kerry to sign it on air. _________________ "Courage is not the lack of fear. It is acting in spite of it." - Mark Twain |

What would be great is President Bush in the middle of a debate pulling out 2 copies of the 180, one with his information and one with Kerry's. After a speech about putting the whole contoversy to rest he volunters to sign his in front of the entire American population watching, and then asks Kerry to do the same. This would put Kerry on the spot but not hurt Bush as he has already given an executive order to release his. It would not require the MSM to be honest and actually would give great leverage to the new media (thats us folks) to bring out the point that we have been asking this all along and the MSM has been hiding it. |

Great suggestion to Bush, Sun Tzu, to have his 180 and one ready for Kerry. I see Cheny cares his Haliburton papers!
and yes I expect Bush will outshine and out talk him. Or he may just need to listen as Kerry tries to not answer questions, rambling and saying nothing, and yes hang himself. Bush knew how to keep focused and let Gore self-destruct. Bush has the record, he has the facts and he 'will not waiver, will not falter, will not fail'. He says what he means and means what he says and I believe that will apply to not only war on terror but at the debates. The moderaters probably wont get the question approved by Kerry so we may not hear it. May be too risky and off message from Bush himself. CTW

I don't think whipping out a Form 180 and asking Kerry to sign it during the national debates is a good idea. First, the general public will not understand the issues behind it. Secondly, Rick Lazio tried this with Hillary Clinton during the New York State Senator debates and it was the kiss of death for Mr. Lazio, since the Gen'l Public percieved this as hostile and rash. There needs to be a slow steady drumbeat that allows no way out for Mr. Kerry to sign that form. An "ambush strategy" can easily backfire, as I'm sure that Mr. Kerry may anticipate this scenario and have a preplanned soundbite that could be played over and over again in the old media (formerly MSM) to the disadvantage of President Bush.

IMO there is something very damaging in Kerry's records which is why he will not sign the 180.

Definitely agree. Although, humorously, it would be interesting watching the press portray "poor Kerry" as a girlie-man victim. But not interesting enough to give the election to Kerry. _________________ US Army Security Agency

If I were George Bush at the debates, I would say, “I concede my allotted time to The Honorable Senator from Massachusetts, John F. Kerry. He is much better at debating himself than I could ever be. Thank you and God Bless America.” _________________ I was going to become an anarchist, but they had too many rules. |

Will Kerry even show up for the debates?
How many weeks now since Kerry held a press conference?
Is he still not even talking to the pool hacks on his plane?
That crank phone call to the NYT last Sunday, and last
week's appearance on Imus were disasters. Kerry can't
even handle softball questions from friendly reporters.
It's reported that he's now switching from reporters to
variety show hosts, with appearances on Dr.Phil and
Letterman. With any luck, they'll only want to discuss
wind surfing, and the agony of all these "scurrilous"
personal attacks. |

I do agree with you that whipping ut the 180 in a debate could be dangerous and I conceed your point. I still do beleive that is would be so much fun to watch though, I can see the headlines now
'Senator Kerry wets pants in national debate'
Of course it would be Bushes fault. |

> ... whipping ut the 180 in a debate could be dangerous ...
Yes. If Kerry ever addresses the 180 issue,
expect him to game it. And unfortunately, most
of the people and sites lobbying for him to sign
it seem to have no clue about how, precisely,
to fill it out to prevent gaming.
Furthermore, in the particular case of Bush, we
have yet to see the actual text of the instructions
he gave releasing his documents.
There's no released Executive Order on the WH
site that I can find, and no indication of a signed
SF-180. The WH Press Sec. was asked about the
'180, but I've never seen a response.
Bush allowed the press to look at all his records,
but not copy the medicals. Does a '180 cause
release of medical records?
As much as I might like to see what's in Kerry's
medical records, I'm willing for both candidates
to have some privacy on that matter. However,
if Kerry indicates a willingness to release his
meds if Bush will also, that works for me too. |
