Great article! I believe everything happens for a reason.
The choice by John Kerry to run on his "heroism" in Vietnam
and the "rapid response" team of the Swiftvets are providing
the opportunity for those who are willing to listen to know the
truth about Vietnam. I pray that it will provide some comfort
to those veterans who were so abused and misunderstood due
to the irresponsible reporting of CBS and other members of the
MSM. They are trying to do the same thing with the Iraq war
and we must all pledge to do our best to keep such a fraud
from being perpetrated on the American people again. _________________ Susan R. Morton |

Terrific article, and very well put post, Susan. It may be 30+ years too late, but at least Kerry's decision to run for Pres. puts him in the national spotlight for his worst deeds as a human being, not his accomplishments in office. I hope this does give some comfort if possible for those that have greatly suffered. I still think Kerry needs to take his whining liberal money and take care of all the homeless vets that are that way because of what he did, and the effects it had on them and their ability to bounce back here with lack of support. Lots of blood on his hands. Now the culprits are Rather and the producer Mapes, and the blood is on their hands from this fight in Iraq, and every kidnapping and beheading in the name of 'Abu Ghraib.' |

B.G. Burkett, a military researcher, was co-chairman of the Texas Vietnam Memorial with President George Bush as Honorary Chairman. Mr. Burkett has been the object of an award-winning segment on ABC's "20/20," as well as much acclaimed articles in Texas Monthly and Reader's Digest. He is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and the University of Tennessee. Burkett also served in Vietnam with the 199th Light Infantry Brigade, and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Vietnamese Honor Medal, and Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm.

Thanks. Just making sure it was only an unfortunate name coincidence. |
