My assertions all along have been that the job reports, though looking better are NOT at all what was promised by this administration, as well as the jobs that have been gained are a far cry from recovering the jobs that have been lost. Nothing that has been posted has detracted from either of these points. |

And nothing can detract from the fact that unemployment is just 5.6%, either. |

Good night. |

Well, 94.4% of Americans do.
Ever hear of the term "natural rate of unemployment" ? It's in every Economics 101 book since time immemorial.
Check it out. |

Brian, it is obviously an issue. Maybe you should go on a global economics teaching trek to each of the people that want a job and can't get one.
The point is that you posted this GREAT NEWS and now you are saying it is irrelevant. |

I agree - the thread died when you tried to talk down the economy... and failed. |

Nope - 4.9-5.0% is considered "full employment."
Clinton sure made it part of his proud campaign for re-election - that uneployment was ONLY 5.6% - once again, liberals show their hypocrisy.
What was celebrated in 1996 as a huge accomplishment is today cause for hand-wringing, sky-is-falling pronouncements. John Kerry's reaction to the announcement about the creation of new jobs was predictably pessimistic.
Considering the terrible toll foisted upon our economy by the 9-11 attacks, I would say that our recovery is close to miraculous.
At the time, economists were generally predicting that it would take us six-ten YEARS to bounce back! _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~

All the rhetoric about all the jobs are just flipping burgers really amuse me. Think about it. If they need that many to cook burgers at McDonalds, then many others must be properous enough to afford buying them all the time. McDonalds stock must be going over the top from all the increased business and opening so many new restaraunts.
As for all the outsourcing of jobs, doesn't anyone remember NAFTA? That wasn't Bush's baby, was it?
No President creates jobs, unless he is swelling the roles of Government Employees. Private sector corporations create the jobs and hire people. All a sitting President can do is try to create an environment where coporations are doing well enough to hire new workers.
I keep hearing how Clinton created 30 million jobs, up from the original 10 million first claimed. I have yet to have seen anyone be able to list a general outline of just what jobs they were.
As with most everything else, liberals just run off at the mouth and never back it up. Since they are liberals and know what is better for all of us, they expect that people just believe them. Not me! |

The good news about the economy cannot be held down. People have more money in their pockets and the market has recovered from the disaster of 9-11.
Keep on keeping on, Mr. President! _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~
