Saddam Hussein wasn't behind 9/11, Al Queda was, although the truth behind the corrupt UN food for oil program may still implicate Hussein. However, with respect to the war on global terrorism, Saddam Hussein was identified as a possible supplier of the materials that Al Queda terrorists could use to do their dirty work. (No different, in a sense, than regarding Hussein as a drug lord.)

The bottom line is that Kerry continues to ignore the burden that Pres. Bush had to bear with respect to rethinking how America had to deal with global terrorism. Vietnam "war hero" Kerry wrongly applies his decades old anti-war politics and limited Vietnam experience to size up terrorism.
