And at a Toby Keith concert?... You'd think the coward that wussy-bashed that soldier from behind would have been pummeled into the ground by a million folks!

I am a law-abiding citizen.
If I would have witnessed that event... I would not be.

As unfair as it would be, if he causes injury to or kills an attacker, he could be charged. It has happened with boxers and other athletes. The ACLU weighed in on one case and claimed that the hands of the "defendant", a martial arts instructor in that case, were "lethal weapons", so he used "excessive force" and his "deadly weapons" in defending himself. I believe there were several attackers, and one of the attackers died, so he was charged with manslaughter. I think the case ended in a plea bargain where he still served some time, but it was a travesty of justice.

In the case of a military member, with the anti-America sentiment being fomented by the "soul-mate" spiritual descendents of the VVAW and the apparently out-of-control judicial system, the same approach to convict him would probably be attempted, so maybe going to concerts and other "controversial" gatherings is just one more freedom THEY can no longer enjoy even though THEY have to put THEIR lives on the line to protect this privelege for OTHERS, like the "scum bag" (to quote Threeeeeza Heinz-Kerry) in this story.

...too bad we can't trade these thugs for kidnap victims in Iraq.

I'm there, while I sadly have to support the loons for lurch and their right to free speech, I will never stand by and watch them turn violent without due recourse.
Is it too much to ask that when my time comes it's Michael Moore standing in front of me? Wink

I blame John Kerry for this vicious act upon one of our fighting men.
He began it in 1971 and the same hate American mentality is there today.

It is horrid that anyone would attack a soldier who defended our honor and our country to keep us safe from harm. Kerry is most definately to blame for this hiddeous act. Blood is on Kerry's hands.

I am so mad right now I could just spit!!

I did my year in Iraq, and am probably going back again for another round.

If I saw somebody attack a fellow soldier.........lets just say that I would be on them like a pack of dogs on a three legged cat.

Let me just say... I am not in the military... but if I saw that I would jump all over those idiots and would act in defense of you guys. Pisses me off. I have the highest respect for all those who have ever served in the military. There are many people who feel the same way. You should introduce your military pals to this website to show them the support that does exist back here.

What is truly hard to understand is the reaction of the loonie-lefties to this incident. See this at the DU forum.
