I was out cruising last Saturday afternoon on my shiney new Triumph Bonneville (complete with USMC license plate and USMC decals) when I came up to a redlight and saw about a dozen Kerry/Edwards supports waving Kerry/Edwards signs and shouting at passing cars to vote for Kerry/Edwards. I proceded to shout that "Hanoi John Kerry had betrayed his fellow veterans". They then tried to shout me down, but as soon as they tried, I just opened up the throttle on my sweet Bonne and all that you could see were lips moving. I would let off of the throttle and shout "John Kerry met with the enemy in Paris, while his fellow vets were dying in Vietnam". Again they tried to shout me down, but as soon as they did I would open up the throttle on my Bonne. While this was going on, cars were slowing down to see what all the commotion was about. This went on until the light turned green (it was a long redlight too). Any of you that remember the sweet sound of a Triumph Bonneville with the throttle wide open can picture this scenario in your mind and the exact sound of a Bonne drowning these characters out. I returned later that day with the intent of passing out what is left of my Swiftvet bumper stickers on the opposite corner, but these Kerry/Edwards supporters were not there. What a shame! Oooorahhhhh!

Last week I heard a knock on my front door.
It tuned out to be a Kerry campaign worker collecting for the cause.
I told him that I belonged to SBVFT and had no intention of supporting a traitor.
He was a gentleman in his early sixties and was polite. He said he was not a veteran because his number was not called. He asked why I wouldn't support a fellow swiftboat vet (Kerry). I told him that although I did not serve at the same time as Kerry that I was in the same unit in Cat Lo and that Kerry turned on every veteran, POW and serviceman when he joined and led the anti-War movement and told lies discrediting our service.
At the end of our 5 minute talk, he told me that he didn't know about Kerry's past in the detail that I gave him. He also told me that I could count on his vote against Kerry in the coming election.

Great BuffaloJack!! Gave me an idea. I plan to have on hand my own handouts (of the information gained through this site) to give to any who knock on my door. And in the car to any who approach while I am out. Keep the pressure on. Glad to hear that another American has come to their senses. CTW
