Just a thought for the alternative press...Kerry says now that he would bring France and other "allies" into Iraq to shoulder the burden with US and to "legitimize" the action...He seems t imply that he has a concrete plan!
If he knows how to do this (and if he knew how prior to the invasion) he is (has been) obligated to bring this "plan" to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee...he is still an active member (re his web bio) and to not be at the Committee Meetings front and center laying all of his G2, direct and indirect diplonatic contacts with these "allies" and definitive concepts for how to accomplish this important goal is a DERILICTION OF DUTY.
We need some investigative force to match up his pronouncements on his brilliant plan with his role as a member of the Committee. |

I could swear that when Lugar came out a few days ago to clarify some of his statements re: the administrations handling of Iraq, he made a point of blasting Kerry's poor attendance at Foreign Relations Committee hearings. Now I'm searching high and low for that quote and can't find anything.
Ideas anyone? Unfortunately, I don't have Lexis/Nexis access any more _________________

LOL Fred
Good luck finding anything on the MSM printing anything about Kerry missing Committee meeting, hell in their opinion missing a flipping Guard meeting is a sign of failure, missing a Closed Senate Foriegn Intelligence meeting is like forgeting to take the trash out. _________________ SwiftVets, keep up the GREAT work, truth will win out over spin. |

Lugar's Other Comments
The media played up Richard Lugar's recent remarks about President Bush; will they do the same with his assessment of Senator Kerry?

OVER THE WEEKEND, comments made by Republican Senator Dick Lugar of Indiana concerning aspects of the Bush administration's post-Iraq policy received lots of media attention. But the senator has also commented on the Iraq speech John Kerry delivered yesterday before an audience at New York University:
"As a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Senator John Kerry has failed to participate in almost two-dozen bipartisan open oversight hearings. At these hearings, both Republicans and Democrats have offered timely criticism and helped President Bush to continue to shape, refine, and improve our policies and activities in Iraq. Without offering any alternative plans that our committee and the American people could debate, Senator Kerry has tried to argue that President Bush is concealing the truth and the potential that events in Iraq will become worse. In fact, with the participation of the administration, we have been publicly airing and examining all scenarios, including the worst outcomes. Through constructive bipartisan criticism, we believe that we have supported and strengthened the resolve and resources of our president, our troops, and the Iraqis. With our help, the Iraqis are pushing through terrorist obstacles to freedom, democracy, and a better life in a country that has suffered through decades of tyranny and has routinely committed aggression against other nations. We look forward, this week, to the visit of Prime Minister Allawi of Iraq with President Bush, his speech to a joint session of the Congress, and opportunities for Senators to question the Prime Minister and advise him
on ways that we can work more successfully together."
Will the media give these remarks on Kerry the same coverage it gave to Lugar's comments on the president's Iraq policy?

I found this reference to it but haven't found the actual statement. I heard it too, just don't remember where or when. I 'll keep searching.

France and Germany both have already said that they will not be helping out even if Kerry gets elected. |
