I think we should use our voices to tell the affiliates that we are sick of all the sole focus on all bad news in Iraq.

Let us urge for more balanced coverage of the good that is happening there.
Ask for stories of the progress in IRAQ!!

I really do not want my family to boycott CBS programming but we will if Dan Rather is not terminated. Do judges who accept bribes keep their jobs? No.

I sent the following message to the list. However, I sent it from my old laptop and it took so long to process (they wanted to edit for offensive content etc.) that I do not know if it succeeded.

My anger was overshadowed by a sadness for the eroded standards in the media today.
In many ways we are no longer free. We used to OWN the airwaves. How sad.
My attempted message;

Today I am sad. I find speech to be useless on some occasions. You have people in your organization who have dishonored our great country, our culture and ideals;also the long legacy of sacrifice from our soldiers, missionaries , foreign services and the great goodwill of our people.

You have also crossed a line that is and was unthinkable to the great ones in YOUR HISTORY!!
How sad that a few of your people have been allowed to sully the great icon of FEARLESS, FAIR, ACCURATE and HONEST journalism.. It is a dark moment.

I can remember the glory days of Ed Murrow's HARVEST OF SHAME. How that inspired our nation and brought honest and good change.

I am grieving for all of YOUR soldiers who fought and sacrificed so much to bring us an HONEST and FREE Press!!
Your HARVEST OF SHAME is literal.

How ironic that you can see the COST OF SOMETHING SO PRECIOUS, but you CANNOT SEE THE VALUE!

There is no disgrace in being wrong. When you say I am sorry, truly sorry, you are really saying that you are smarter today than yesterday. When you defend the indefensible you show the world how small you are and how you have squandered the opportunities for magnificence!

I for one will hope and pray that you all set your collective shoulders to the rock and begin anew. That you will determine to be great and good and proud again. With effort you can set about wooing the attention and trust of a good portion of this nation that you have hurt and alienated.

You could start with an apology to our President. You were wrong. There is healing in forgiveness.

Turn the page and let this lesson be the cornerstone of an even greater era in the Tiffany Network!
