Totally off-topic, but this guy deserves a big "Hooah", "Semper Fi", (and whatever you Air Force and Navy types use as an equivalent "Anchors Aweigh" or whatever )
Eagan vet, 58, going back to Army, Iraq

This guy can take care of himself, check out his reponse to the Kerry vet guy's quotes. And his yard sign campaign!
I showed my better half this article and she's really worried I might do something this "stupid" too. Been having some thoughts along these lines since the war started last year, and this guy is even older than I am... |

As a fellow Minnesotan I applaud him and thank him.
Last night there was another local story in Minnesota also. An owner of a very succesful deli and restaurant, who is originally from Iraq, but has been a citizen here for many years, sold his restaurant and is returning to Iraq. He wants to help in the reconstruction and help his country to realize the great benefits of freedom.
Next thing Minnesota is going to do is vote for a Republican for president for the first time is decades. |

YEAH! I saw that article, what an amazing guy!! -- and I still see one of his signs in my neighborhood.. (I think it's one of his--been there since start of war) it's just planted there in a yard a few blocks away: "Liberate Iraq" -- never changing, never moving -- snow gets methodically brushed off year after year.
And yes, will we, can we go republican? The dems are out and about organizing and busing vets all over the place for Kerry.... (and what oh what to do about the Star & Tribune??) But, I am optimistic ... I think we are just being stealthy... saw a parked car with Nat'l Guard plates and a Bush/Cheney sign in their yard ... Not a lot of republ. hoopla going on, but I think we don't need as much convincing as the "other side" does... Good luck to them. |
