"...I debated him in '71 and then went home for 35 years..."

--John O'Neill

also from the Book signing party...

Tony Snesko speaking to Jerry Corsi:
"You will go down in history as having changed the course of history"

John O'Neill speaking about his daughter's wedding:
"They did fine. We got picketed, but it wasn't a big deal, it was a bunch of people dressed up like hamburgers!... I thought it was a comment on my diet, but they were supposed to be 'whoppers'"

John O'Neill:
"That's all of us, the book is all the guys, you can read the book, it's 60 people, I'm just the guy with the name on the book"

Wapo writer Richard Leiby to John O'Neill:
"I've started to 'wade' into your book, 'wade' being the proper term" (John chuckles)

Regnery Publishing President Marji Ross:
"Very exciting to be involved in a book that actually makes a difference in the future of our country and this book is one of those rare books that accomplishes that...and unlike other books and 'news stories' we hear about on the network news, John and Jerry did not use 'unnamed sources', did not use 'forged documents', but rather the book is based on sworn statements of more than 200 veterans whose only motivation was to speak out for the good of the country, often times to their own personal disadvantage, and that is the real act of bravery..."

John introduces Admiral Hoffman who then says:
"Have you ever heard so much bull in all your life?" (Laughter, then John:) "That's why Admiral Hoffman made me the media guy" (Laughter)

John O'Neill speech exceprt:
"It takes a 'dark soul' like Kerry to see the Vietnam war as a long criminal enterprise, the sort of person that thinks the Alamo is a lost battle because they didn't realize what happened in San Jacinto, the sort of person that looks at Dunkirk and forgets the fall of Berlin, the sort of person that looks at Pearl Harbor and doesn't remember that the second world war ended up with a victory, and in the end we won the Cold War, freedom triumphed. and we live in a better world because of it."
