Mateo
You are about to begin one of the most memorable experiences of your life. And being a veteran is something that you will always be proud of as long as you live.
Basic will be hard, but it has to be. It will train your body but it will also train your mind to think like a soldier and work as a team.
Watch your buddies backs and they will watch yours. That part of it will never change.
Good luck and thank you.

BTW, At Ft. Gordon it stays hot and humid through October but it gets very cold in January. At least it did in '69.

I am with lthrneck you still have a few days to speak with a Marine recruiter. He will put you on the path to greatness.

In all seriousness. Excellent decision. Go forth and serve. Just remember this. The mind games will be what gets you. I too had a beer gut and the drill instructors were all over me from day one. I shipped with a 40 in waist and left with a 32. When you graduate you will find yourself thinking how quickly it went and how easy it was. Another piece of advice Is, if you only do one enlistment never stop doing the P.T. I learned the hard way. Once I realized how out of shape I had become it was too late and I had to start all over again(bummer).

When you graduate give us another post. Good luck.

Best of luck, is there "Jump School" in your plans?

By those locations, my guess is your MOS is not going to be "a spoon"... Very Happy

My #3 Son-in-Law is going to follow you to Benning next week.
Geeze, that's the first time I've ever called him a Son-in-Law.
I guess that an Army enlistment leads to an attitude adjustment.

Very Happy
