-John Kerry never "gave" his medals or ribbons back. The media seems to describe it as such because this is how Kerry explained it on TV and in interviews "I gave back, I can’t remember, 6, 7, 8, 9 medals" Sure, he threw something alright but what does it really mean?
-For Kerry to give back his medals or ribbons, he would have had to mail or hand them and their citations to the Department of the Navy and request his DD-214 be amended. This is how someone gives their medals back, or doesn't accept them at all.
-What John Kerry did on the steps of our capital, and what he organized, funded, and incited others to do (many who never served a day in Vietnam or in uniform) was to completely DESECRATE medals and ribbons that represent the bravery of American Fighting Men and Women of all generations, not a foreign policy or a government.
Even worse, just days before, while testifying before Congress Kerry wore them to garner credibility, and they even got him out of some tough questions from the Senators. In fact, nothing Kerry said that day made the war go any better or faster in Vietnam or at Home. Both our history and that of the enemy's, now show he made it much worse.
So if nothing has changed for Kerry, why does he proudly stand behind those "symbols" now? Because he wants votes and sympathy.
-John Kerry threw into the dirt, into the filth that was that day, symbols that represent the courage and sacrifice of the men at Bunker Hill, Normandy, Anzio, Okinawa, Korea, Khe Sanh, the Mekong Delta, Iraq and hundreds of other blood soaked hallowed grounds.
There is a reason why George Washington's face (who founded the medal) is on the Purple Heart, it represents the sacrifice of our soldiers since the Revolutionary War to the present. That sacrifice, not the government or policy is what gives the cloth meaning.
All of these "symbols" as Kerry called them, represent the valor of all Americans who honorably earned or will earn them. No one has permission to denegrate them for political purpose, or any purpose.
-Back in 1970 and still today, it is a Felony for any citizen including civilians to abuse our highest military medals. Some may not like it, but it is a law for good reason.
As President, how could John Kerry who desecrated his medals for theater affect, ever personally award any medals to my brothers in arms. Some mistakenly think his 4 months in a combat zone gives him immunity. Serving in combat means NOTHING when you betray with words and deeds, meet with the enemy, and inspire the slander of a generation. Combat is not a free pass.
-Our combat medals do not represent the various Presidents or administrations that have sent us to fight in far off places, they represent the men who fought along side us and probably earned them for us. What Kerry did was throw their memory in the dirt for an ignoble cause that he would totally abandon a year later for a gilded life salaried by the taxpayer and a capitalist's fortune. What a sorry trade.
-Ironically the symbols John Kerry desecrated are the very symbols that gave Kerry a free ticket home, a ticket to tragically lie, and a ticket to Congress. Except it wasn't free, the Americans who were still fighting overseas and those who Kerry and his VVAW slandered at home would pay the price for decades.
Many have decided that he indeed earned them, well the ones who matter know that he clearly un-earned them.
If John Kerry still really thinks he “gave” them back, then who may I ask gave them back to him? _________________ __________________________

Got this from a retired buddy:
Poor John Kerry:
He throws away someone else's medals.
He drives someone else's SUV.
He marries someone else's wife.
And he inherits someone else's money.
I think we should all vote for him to go be president of someone else's country.
