Well, as of today, it seems that the Swifties are getting out to the public.

If this is a repeat post, I am sorry.

http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/09/27/prez.poll/index.html

Here is part I love..............

Quote:
And asked which man would better handle relations with other countries, Bush -- charged by his critics with alienating the world community through unilateralism -- beat his Democratic challenger by a 52 percent to 44 percent margin.

Although half of those polled said the outcome of the election would have no effect on whether there is another terrorist attack in the United States, 31 percent said they think chances of an attack would be reduced if Bush were re-elected. Only 16 percent said they thought the chances of an attack would be reduced if Kerry was elected.

Kerry's military service in Vietnam -- which he showcased at the Democratic National Convention but has since come under attack by a group called Swift Boat Veterans for Truth -- has become less of an asset, the poll found.

In the latest poll, 19 percent of registered voters said Kerry's service made them more likely to vote for Kerry, down from 41 percent at the beginning of August, right after the Democratic convention.

The poll also found that the dispute over Kerry's antiwar activism after the Vietnam War is having more of a negative effect on his candidacy than questions about Bush's National Guard service are having on his electability.

A third of likely voters said Kerry's antiwar activity made them less likely to vote for him, compared with 49 percent who said it would have no effect. In contrast, 69 percent of likely voters said questions about Bush's Guard service would have no effect on their vote, compared with 23 percent who said it made them less likely to vote for the president.

I turned an undecided into anti-Kerry vote today
based on just that - his post war activities

one-vote-at-a- time, lets give ole Kerry a landslide defeat

Fox news this morning discussed this Poll at length. And more than once they said that the decline in Kerry's popularity started with the first SwiftBoat Ad. CONGRATS to you who had the courage and the honor to step forward and form the SwiftBoat Vets for Truth. I am honored to be associated with you.

The headlines from CNN and USAToday on this poll are disgusting.

CNN says "Bush apparently ahead" and USAToday says "Bush lead shrinking" even though their poll has him up by 8 among likely voters and 11 among registered voters.

Talk about biased reporting. You can just read the resentment in these headlines.

Yes the Swiftees' efforts to get the truth of character (or lack there of) and Kerry's lack of qualities to be CIC have made a difference. On CNN now Mrs. Edwards: Hey Where is her Fonda (V vote) shirt? I am so disappointed. CTW

Never Ever Kerry

Sadly though, I'm scared of the "registered" voters being courted in Ohio, Iowa, and Florida right now

Apparently, someone at CNN is having difficulty dealing with reality. The application of such a qualifier in a headline from an MSM "news" organization is telling.

If the pressure can be sustained on Kerry, the next two weeks will seal his fate. If he is behind in the polls after the debates, and after the debates about the debates, the Democrats will spend money on contested congressional races instead of the presidential campaign. Look for the Soros groups, if that happens, to pour money into keeping Bush's margin low so they claim he is illegitimate.

So this is no time to let down anyone's guard. As a matter of fact, the next 14 or so days are the time to pile on and finish this turkey off. Otherwise, he will continue to slither around until early November. I want to see a Kerry in Paris commercial as much as possible in my swing state. I can tell you this has drawn blood even among moderate Democrats in my district who question Kerry's integrity and character now, something those of us who have known him always did.

PostPosted: Tue Sep 28, 2004 3:28 pm    Post subject: Rasmussen: 54% Stay in Iraq, 31% Withdraw Reply with quote

I know that I posted this elsewhere, but it seems relevant to this topic:

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/Perspectives%20on%20Iraq%20Sept%2027.htm

According to Rasmussen Reports:

"September 27, 2004--Most Americans (54%) favor leaving U.S. soldiers in Iraq until that country's political situation is stabilized. A Rasmussen Reports survey of 1,000 Likely Voters found that 31% are opposed to that policy.

The survey also found that most American voters believe it will take a lengthy period of time for Iraq to reach political stability. In fact, 60% of voters say it will take at least three years (including 27% who say that goal will take more than five years to accomplish)."

(end quote from Rasmussen)

This poll seems to show that an ad about Kerry's recommendations before the Senate (in 1971) for early withdrawal from Vietnam, followed the disastrous consequences, followed by Kerry's 2004 call for withdrawing the troops within 6 months, could be EXTREMELY EFFECTIVE.

If Kerry is in favor of something opposed by 54% of the voters, (and only favored by 31%), AND his previous track record in that domain is shown to be disastrous, he loses the election, pure and simple. Give Bush 54% and split the undecided, and Bush wins a landslide.

SBVT must show the electorate that Kerry is the "cut and run" candidate.

IMHO, THIS is the issue that could sink Kerry for good!!! A 23% difference on this issue is way outside the margin of error for any "scientific" poll. Could an ad like this be run shortly after the first debate, just in case Kerry scores any points during the first "foreign policy" debate?

Since I posted this, somebody has suggested showing piles of skulls from Cambodia as the consequences of Kerry's early withdrawal--now THAT could be extremely effective in an ad!

This is going to be key. The lead needs to be enough that the dems can't fraud their way to victory. Keep it up everyone.

Thank you so much ,swifties! I used to live in fear of the "junior senator from Mass." actually fooling the people yet again- but it seems to quote, sorta, Ronald Reagan-he counted on the Swift Boat Veteran's for Truth to be passive-he counted wrong. In nearly every report I hear or article I read about the new poll results, the SBVFT are credited as causing his down fall. I am a military spouse, my husband is with the 3rd I.D. down in Ga. They are going to Tikrit for a year in Jan05 and all of us spouses were scared to death that "the party of weakness" would get their candidate in, and he would do the same kind of crap he did in '71 and throughout his career to my husband and his men. Thank God for you guys! We had heard about you in whispers last year and it prompted us to look into Kerry's past thru whatever records we could find. I t came as no surprise that very liitle was available on the subject. I heard Hannity say on his radio show one day that he was going to interview John O'neill and we all sat around and listened. We watched the commercials and TIVoed the t.v. appearances- the senator began to squirm, and then they said it couldn't be done but WHAMMO! The book came out even with all the attempts at silencing. We bought it and it circulated throughout the unit and made it's way to other units. Kids as young as 18 registered to vote and Kerry has little chance of getting the military vote anymore. Thank you guys once again for looking out for us active military. If it hadn't been for your willingness to stand up in the face of adversity-then and now- we would never have known the truth.

Re: Steve Z:Rasmussen: 54% Stay in Iraq, 31% Withdraw

Sounds like you want a LBJ-style "Daisy Ad" ? Well, I could do a
Flash mock-up if you want, but I'd need some help with the copy.

I was thinking we'd just use quotes from Flipper John's CR speech,
ie, how there wouldn't be a significant impact to 'Nam and other
countries if we left... then a quote of what he wants to do now in Iraq.
These are the specific quotes I need.

In any case, I'd be willing to do the 'killing fields' shot at the end...
but it's going to be controversial--to say the least. Rolling Eyes

While the news is good, be cautious on what polls you beleive. I would like someone to define the term "poll of likely voters". Does this mean the are only polling people who have voted before? Only Old people (they are likely to vote)? I have a feeling these polls are leaving out large segments of people.
