Five weeks ahead of the November 2 US presidential vote, Soros, a Hungarian born US citizen, also announced he was launching an website (www.GeorgeSoros.com) where he promises to answer questions by undecided voters.
He said he was running two-page ads in several US newspapers on Wednesday.
"I am eager to reach Republicans who might vote for Bush out of party loyalty," Soros said at a Washington press conference. "I also intend to reach out to the business community, especially among the traditional conservatives."
According to Soros there are many Republicans "who are quite distressed about the policies of this administration."
Soros said he was willing to spend "between 2 and 3 million (dollars) on this campaign," adding that if he increases the amount he will announce it later.
Republican House of Representative speaker Dennis Hastert recently suggested in a television interview that Soros may be making his billions off illegal-drug related activities. Soros wrote to Hastert demanding an apology.
"There is no way to avoid a smear campaign," said Soros. "It's in full swing. All I can do is get my message out and try to have people listen," he said.

Soros the Atheist is swishing his thorny tail around, eh? I wonder what he hopes to gain by having Kerry in the White House? Is anybody interested--or are we supposed to believe he is just a patriotic citizen? Hmmm??
Soros is so dirty that I am surprised that (even) Kerry would allow his campaign to be publicly associated with him. Isn't it one of the cornerstones of the Kerry campaign that they will stand up to evil rich people while looking out for the middle-class? Is that stated convinction what has so energized Soros? His deep concern for the middle class? His desire to protect American women from terror? Health care? Education reform? How many children does George Soros have at P.S. 24?
In any event, Soros is on a fool's errand. Bush's base is rock solid, unlike Kerry's.
These Soros types have a capacity for denial which appears limitless, and is exceeded only by their own pompous grandiosity. They suck the air out of any room they are in. They are human black holes. They admit to running vicious smear campaigns, and demand apologies from those who speak the truth.
Can't wait for him to get his web site up and running, because I have a message for George Soros it will help me deliver: You are a drug-money laundering, arms-dealing pig. The money you spend to defeat George Bush has been soaked in the blood of innocents. There! Now go hire John Edwards, and sue me for libel. |

I always thought Soros' tail was barbed, not thorny.
