Michelle Malkin on Kerry's failure to counter the effectiveness of the Swift Vote ads:

John Kerry: Mr. Perfect for President?
By Michelle Malkin

TV cameras are brutally unforgiving—especially during high-stakes election debates. They amplified the angst on Richard Nixon’s brow, the inexperience in Dan Quayle’s eyes, and the vulgarity of Al Gore’s visage.

How will Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry hold up under the spotlight? What will the cameras reveal?

Beneath the Christophe-coifed hair, unnaturally taut skin, and artificially enhanced tan, there are some naked attributes Kerry cannot conceal:

His spite. His haughtiness. His condescending core.

John Kerry detests his opponents. He detests his own staff. He detests anybody and anything that interferes with his political ambitions.

Since returning from Vietnam, his main contribution to public discourse has been contempt, not courage. He possesses resentment, not hope. He does not inspire. He sulks.

Much has been said about Kerry’s superior argumentative skills. He was a champion debater at Yale; his former Republican opponents in Massachusetts have effusively praised his quick recall and rhetorical agility.

This will no doubt impress the like-minded lefties in America’s newsrooms and Hollywood salons. But in America’s living rooms, a man’s unvarnished character—how he carries himself, how he treats others, how he responds to adversity—speaks volumes over the stilted platitudes and smoothly memorized factoids that come out of his mouth.

This isn’t a race for prom king or Jeopardy! champion. It’s a race for leader of the free world.

Throughout the course of the campaign, Kerry has demonstrated a holier-than-thou hubris that continues to alienate security moms, Reagan Democrats, and swing voters of all backgrounds.

It’s not just his disingenuous vacillation on foreign policy (he was for the war before he was against it, but he’d vote the same way) that bothers folks.

It’s not just the Kennedy-esque photo-ops of Kerry in athletic settings that scream vanity instead of vigor.

It’s the ugly little things that pile up and create the indelible image of a Royal Jerk:

Such as publicly calling one of his own Secret Service agents a "son of a [bleep]" for accidentally knocking him down on his snowboard during a press availability in Ketchum, Idaho. "I don’t fall," Kerry sniffed to reporters as he cursed the Secret Service agent on the record.

Such as badmouthing NASA for releasing routine publicity photos of Kerry, dressed in a goofy-looking "bunny suit," while on a campaign visit to the shuttle Discovery at the Kennedy Space Center. After the pictures caused unforeseen embarrassment, Kerry sent his spokeswoman onto the cable news to falsely suggest that NASA had played a dirty trick.

Such as burning his own campaign staff over his failure to effectively counter the claims of the Swift Boat Veterans. "The candidate is furious," a longtime senior Kerry adviser told the New York Daily News. "He knows the campaign was wrong. He wanted to go after the Swift boat attacks, but his top aides said no."

Such as ridiculing President Bush for remaining with schoolchildren for a few extra minutes after learning of the Sept. 11 attacks, while neglecting to mention his own emotional paralysis at the Capitol that morning

And such as using an Outdoor Life magazine question about what his favorite gun is to tout his Vietnam War hero status again, then faulting his campaign staff for fabricating the weapon he named in his interview. "My favorite gun is the M-16 that saved my life and that of my crew in Vietnam," Kerry is quoted as saying in the October issue. "I don't own one of those now, but one of my reminders of my service is a Communist Chinese assault rifle."

Now, according to Monday’s New York Times:"Senator John Kerry's campaign said yesterday that Mr. Kerry did not own a Chinese assault rifle, as he was quoted as saying in Outdoor Life magazine, but a single-bolt-action military rifle, blaming aides who filled out the magazine's questionnaire on his behalf for the error."

This is the paragon of strong moral leadership who will bring victory in the War on Terrorism and restore America’s values?

This Botox-ed egomaniac? This serial waffler? This ruthless buck-passer?

Proverbs 18:12 counsels: "Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honor is humility."

It’s a lesson Mr. Perfect will learn too late.

That quote is a little out of context, I think. Kerry probably was privately furious about the SBVFT ads, but the proper context for the NYT quote was that he was furious with his staff for advising him not to counter the SBVFT ads immediately after they appeared.

Small deal, but we need to stay on the straight and narrow.

If I was 30 years younger, I'd like her to be the mother of my children....

Then again, if I was 30 years younger, I'd be spitting out sand from my Wheaties and canned milk, somewhere near Falujah, and I'd only see her great articles....

Kerry isn't mad at the Swifties, rather he is scared as hell about them, thus his silence. Trust me I knew the Swifties were truth tellers the moment he could not and did not respond to them. Please let me elaborate.

1) John O'Neill the main spokesperson for Swifties has voted for democrats more often the republicans, yet he carries the torch for truth in politics with regard to servicemen. This is a torch soo few have been willing to carry throughout our countries young life.

2) The mass media has tried in vain to discredit the Swifties. This is key people. They could easily bash and destroy the Swifties, but cannot because the Swifties have truth on their side so they have to try an incremental brick by brick de-construction of the Swiftie argument. This has bled Kerry dry and driven the Elitist media crazy. See Dan Rather and Bush National Guard Duty for more on this.

3) Over fifty million was spent by Democratic 527's and at this moment more then 100 mill is exhausted by the liberal 527's, yet a scrappy group of people who call themselves SwiftBoat Veterans for Truth were able to circumvent those 527's mesage with nothing more then a few hundred thousand dollars. This few hundred thousand grew into 6 million with hard grassroots work by many people especially on this board forum. The only reason this group of people have been able to succeed on a grassroots level is because they are not only warriors on war but people who speak the truth. People, especially in time of war want 2 things!

4) When in war and during a presidential race people want our politicians to convince them the country is on the right path and the people leading our country are truthful. Bush gets a silver sticker on both these points. The silver sticker has been awarded to Bush by the Swifties who desire more then anything to protect our countries finest. See point 5.

5) Swift Veterans at their core care for the grunt on the ground. They went through a war where they were trying to save the south vietnamese from communism and give them freedom. People like John Kerry turned their back on God and country for selfish promotion within our heartless subculture. Our heartless subculture has been described previously by posts from former KGB agents as to how to destroy America from within. Kerry to this day is following the Soviet line of attack. The Swifties see this and are cognizant of our fellow soldiers currently fighting for Iraqs freedom of democracy and as such will fight like hell to give them what they never recieved.

6) America is at war. I find it ironic that it is Vietnam Vets that are so soundly aware of just what our country faces. I have met with many world war II vets and they are clueless to what we face. They speak of how great the Democratic party is and how Truman was such a great man. Well I tell them all the Democratic party is no party of Truman anymore and is now a party of anarchists, facists, communists, socialists, & well anone who hates America.

God Bless the Swift Vets who Served in Vietnam & and were never given the love for serving our country on coming home as they deserved, but still carry the torch of freedom for our great country.

I think what *really* sticks in Kerry's craw is ToD has what? 38,000 total sales? And UFC is well on its way to 1,000,000 and no signs of it slowing down.....

Well here is one WW II vet who is glad you're remark doesn't apply
to me. Course I served into the beginning years of the Vietnam era
so maybe that helps explain my understanding.

One of our local radio hosts had a call-in question today: Why is Kerry so disliked on a personal basis?

The question was mainly targeted toward the women in the audience, since the premise was based on recent poll results showing Kerry's popularity with women is in a free-fall.

Almost every single caller (without specific prompting by the host) mentioned exactly the attitude described in this article. A few added that they thought Kerry was a "girly-man", some because of his "wishy-washiness" which they felt was not a manly trait, and some because of his "metrosexual" bearing. But the perception of Kerry's "holier than thou", "I know everything, you know nothing" attitude was overwhelming.

Thank you for serving our country sir. It is because of good men such as yourself that America is able to be the greatest country in the world. I hope to God we do not run out of people like you. But watching the TV now adays I worry.

Regardless, Thank You!

And if it comes down to people who have never been in a war? I will fight the fight my ancestors would approve of.
