I have been banned from the lefty sites everytime I post. I have found that after a few days, the ban is lifted and I can post and be banned again.

I particularly like bein banned by Atrios. They have no sense of humor.

Okay, serious, again... I don't bother trying to post to a site for ideologies that are far from my own. There are too many opportunities for actually changing someone's mind here or on the other boards where I participate.

Trying to get a word in edgewise among the "true believers" - waste of time. I don't like it when they come here spewing the Kerry Talking Points, so I don't disrupt their discussions, either.

I do read every now and then - it's nice to see what they have up their sleeves.

What we've got cooking here is always more interesting and intellectually challenging, too.

Some real brainiacs post here and it's always good to see what their latest ideas are. Always stuff from "outside the box. "

Navy^3, I think you put it as well as anyone could (you're as bright and articulate as anyone here, and "brainiacs" don't have anything on you). I don't post on the opposition's Kool Aide Klatch sites, that would be like walking into a room full of moonbats after finishing off a double helping of beans along with a double chile cheeze omlet and "changing the ambiance", shall we say? No, we don't like obnoxious trouble makers, so we shouldn't be one, either. I generally post truths or refutations to misconceptions, and I always cite sources that even they can accept. I try to give them something to think about...it still usually gets deleted by the "tolerant" moderators, but maybe one of two of them saw it first and thought about it. You never know when you might actually plant a seed.

...call it a search and convert mission. It still feels good to come back to camp and be among the friendlies.

I used to try to do that, too, TEWS. Maybe I still would, if I had time - but it seems like time starts compressing after you hit 40, or something, I dunno.

If you're able to get through to someone in that other "ambience" (LOL!) then more power to ya!

I know one person on this board has hundreds of posts right in the middle of the worst of the opposition. Heqq... I can't hold my temper long enough to do that!!!!

I can FEEL my blood pressure rising just reading, much less engaging in a discussion. I tell you - I admire anyone who has the patience and fortitude to argue calmly and reasonably in those vipers' nests.

BZ's to you, even if you only get to one or two here and there. It's more than I can manage.
