The October surprise I would like to see is Kerry being courtmarshalled for TREASON, for:

1. Secretly meeting with leaders of the enemy in time of war, while being an officer of the USN.
2. Being in a meeting with "enemies of the state" that was planning on assassinating members of the US Congress.
3. Lying to Congress under oath to change the outcome of a war, while soldiers were being killed, and prisoners were being oppressed with his very words, again while he was still a officer of the US Navy.

Thats what I would like to see!

Never mind - I'm daydreaming in technicolor?

Looks like you would expect it.

In the 1980's, Julia, the first Mrs. Kerry, sent me as a birthday present a stack of memo pads with my mame and address. But in the background was musical notation. And in thoughtful recognition of my operatic interest, she had sent pads that had the splendid and amusing aria from Don Giovanni where the valet Leporello list the don's conquest: 1003 in Spain, for example. A rather unsubtle message.

have a nice debate, could be it will help settle it with yourself.

October surprise? Ummm

Kerry's senate record -- it has not been addressed that much so that would be a surprise to most voters.

Kerry's personal history ---most Dems and a few Independents don't care about morality or character (Clinton) so I doubt being a slime does not matter.

Kerry's status as a traitor -- Swift Vets have already touched on it, but maybe a broader reach is possible.

Kerry's family financial ties to Vietnam contracts -- this is dirtier than the alleged favortism given Halliburton and Cheney's history as CEO of Halliburton. Why? Only one or two other US companies can do what Halliburton does and all of these companies have been awarded no bid contracts in Iraq. Only Halliburton's contracts make the papers. The other companies that can perform these services are not US based so why reward non US companies.

I agree -- this is like Christmas. I to want to see Kerry's % of the vote drop below the 30% level. That would mean a defection of 5%-8% of the identified democrats from their party. All polls show that of 40% - 47% Kerry voters, more than 50% are voting ABB, only 40-45% are actually voting for Kerry. I hope that a big part of this group just stays home.

I'd settle for a court order to release all of his military records. I hope the Bush guys read these boards for things to explore further..because you guys are awesome. I've seen a lot of man hours spent investigating Kerry here..and it was free.

Maybe he will be arrested and charge with treason the day before election.

One could only hope! I cannot believe a man who has done what he has done to the country would even think of running for the highest office.

Clint Eastwood once said:

A man has got to know his limitations.

An October Surprise has been mentioned for at least a few months.

As exciting as this sounds, it seems a bit risky.

What if there is a massive terrorist attack before the surprise is revealed?

Certainly the claim would be made that the Bush camp for some
inane reason orchestrated it ( nothing new for the Kerry camp folks ).
Hell, they might even stoop so low as to pull off some disaster and frame
Carl Rove and the RNC. [/sarcasm-paranoia]

Vote for your guess the October Surprise:

1) WMD discovered in Iraq or shipped out of Iraq to another country.

2) Kerry's/VVAW communist ties.

3) Osama Bin Laden verified dead or captured.

4) Kerry's family ties to favorable Vietnam contracts.

5) Kerry's campaign contributions from foreign (illegal) sources.

6) Kerry's senate voting record.

7) Kerry's military records --- dishonorable discharge, fake medals, -- undue influence as Senator in cleaning records

Cool Kerry campaign/DNC ties to forged documents

9) Bush TANG/Alabama National Guard "Band of Brothers" showing that Bush served, volunteered to go to Nam, etc. etc

10) Kerry -- as playboy -- bad boy --- sexual immorality.

11) Swift Boat Vet claims proven true -- Kerry's 'band of brothers" paid campaign stooges --- come clean on Kerry's fake "war hero" history.

Any other suggestions?

If Rove is talking about it, it couldn't be anything like finding WMD, Osama, etc. If it would ever come out that the president was hiding OBL to garner votes, he'd lose mine (and I'm as republican as they come).

No, it would have to be something on Kerry himself.

A pic of him burning the flag... Communist ties... Discharge in 2000... etc.

Just curious, even if Kerry's record isn't available to the public via the FOIA, couldn't high ranking governmane officials have complete and total access to it? I know no one would EVER leak damaging documents like that.

I am not sure that Rove meant it would be one big blockbuster bomb, but more on the order of a constant carpet bombing and shelling of the enemy. I am thinking what he meant was that the Bush campaign will just continue to be as resolute and fresh in October as ever.

But hey! What do I know?

George W has access to any document in posession by any branch of the federal government, state or local, as Commander in Chief.
Would he disclose anything on Kerry's military record?
No, not under any cirumstance, he has too much class to stoop to those tacticts.
Would he leak anything in Kerry's record?
No, as his dad would say "woldn't be prudent"
Everyone in the Bush family has Honor.
Lurch don't know the meaning of the word.

I wouldn't doubt that one bit.
How about an audio tape of Kerry speaking during the "Phoenix" meeting where the assassinations were discussed. I wouldn't doubt that may exist. Maybe Lehman will have something to say about the documents he "signed"? Possible.
