Well, the H is silent but must be nuanced, so it doesn't sound like OOoo OOoo, you know, Horshak on "Welcome Back, Kotter." Not good.

I was at Pendleton in 1970! I was the brat in pig-tails playing football in the street, were you one of the guys in Marine Corp uniform? Cool

I loved it there, learned to surf down the street by the pier. My folks lived out there until 2001, long after my dad had retired. But when my mom passed away, my dad came here to Texas to be with us. Oceanside is still nice, but has grown alot. When I married my husband he was based at Pearl Harbor. I thought, "heeeyyy this is alright! The US military owns some sweet real estate..."
