Well in the light of morning I realize that my disappointment is mostly in my own expectations. I truly wanted to see Bush body slam Kerry, but Kerry gave so many opportunities to do that, Bush didn't have time to cover them all.

Did Bush look tired? Yes, but was that sleepy tired or was it tired of listening to yet more lies and misrepresentations so numerous that no one person could possibly set the record straight n 90 seconds.

I prayed myself to sleep last night..........guess I should do more praying and less Thursday night quarterbacking.

Side note....Blair has had his surgery and is doing fine:))

Right on! There's a great line in Star Trek - TNG, about "turning disadvantage into advantage." Bush was not at his best, but Kerry said a lot that can be used against Kerry. Review those tapes & transcripts people, and think of every angle to help win over the undecideds. Then go work on it!

Maybe this will encourage Bush supporters to get out and vote? Because now we can't just sit back and think it is all won already.

I was surprised that Kerry harped on Afghanistan. It will be interesting to see if the MSM starts doing more stories on the situation there and how 'it's where the real terrorists are.'

I also felt sorry for the position W was in as president. Kerry's comments about Russia and the Iraq allies were just so much hot air but anything W said would be interpretted as U.S. policy. Kerry used this advantage very well although I think W did a reasonable job of saying 'as president you just can't mouth off whenever you want -- there are consequencies.'

Overall, a tie which is OK. I think we all secretly hoped Kerry would blow it in some big way (which he's totally capable of doing). My wife's a Bush-leaning Democrat who at the end of the debate said "So what is Kerry's plan for Iraq? He never said." And, of course, he never did.

Maybe we should start a thread on the Kerry lies spoken during the debate, to gather all the "lies" into one thread"? I've seen several throughout here, but it's intermixed with opinion, and exhausting to review 35 pages(so far)!

Any ideas from an Admin maybe?

I think crushkerry.com has a good summation of last night's debate. I didn't watch them because I can't stomach Kerry. I watched the bloggers who were keeping up with the whole thing. Hubby 'tried' to watch the debate and just couldn't take it either.

All in all, I don't think this particular debate was what it was hyped up to be. Neither of them did their best. I think the second debate will be the tell tale decisive debate for those who havent' made up thier mind yet.

On a side note, today is the last day anyone can register to vote in the presidential election. If you're not registered, go now. If you are, get everyone you know to register today. It took less than 5 minutes for me to register yesterday.

Critiquing debates and talking about Kerry won't do a bit of good if you're not voting because you're just wasting your time.

Good Morning all! In the light of day, I see more clearer. So, what does that mean? It means we continue to bring to light Kerry's true colors, not the ones the MSM wants us to see..But the truth, and the truth is is the same as it was at 8:59pm last night.

It was our expectations that were deflated and good, I am glad for it. I am no longer going to expect anything except a Bush Victory on Nov 2!

After the "global test" comment by Kerry, if that did not make the hairs on the back of your head stand up, than nothing will. Regroup, ..step back, turn OFF The TV, listen to the people, not the polls..and volunteer in your local communities to defeat Kerry..Keep up the email pressure to networks, editors, local and national..and get those peeps out to vote.

We stand with the Swift Vets and POWs for Truth..we have the truth on our side..let them have this battle, we shall win the war..

Odd. Kerry won on style last night. But the media has reacted with less enthusiasm than I would have expected. It may have to do with the substance of what he said--it doesn't stand up in the light of day.

Anyhow, this can have a positive effect in making everyone realize this won't be over until Election Day, and we need to turn up the heat more than ever.

In response to "kmudd's" suggestion to review the transcripts--I found four contradictions by Kerry, and E-mailed the Bush campaign website pointing them out, just in case they might have missed them.

This one could be a huge blooper, concerning Iran:

Kerry: "I think the United States should have offered the opportunity to provide the nuclear fuel, test them, see whether or not they were actually looking for it for peaceful purposes."

Kerry might have not really MEANT that he wanted to provide nuclear fuel to Iran, but that's what he SAID, and he didn't correct himself!

Kerry's plan for Iraq: "I've laid out a plan by which I think we can be successful in Iraq: with a summit, by doing better training, faster, by cutting -- by doing what we need to do with respect to the U.N. and the elections."

Question for Kerry: cutting WHAT?

Another contradiction that some people might have overlooked, because Kerry said these things several minutes apart:

Kerry: (early in the debate) "First of all, we all know that in his state of the union message, he told Congress about nuclear materials that didn't exist."

Kerry: (later in the debate) "The only building that was guarded when the troops when into Baghdad was the oil ministry. We didn't guard the nuclear facilities."

Either Kerry blamed the President for not guarding something that didn't exist, or he lied about its non-existence. It takes a little while to connect the dots, but the devil is in the details!!!

I'm sure you sharp-eyed bloggers will have a field day with this transcript, (foxnews.com has it) as will the Bush campaign. Have at it, guys!!!

I'm telling ya guys. Kerry showed his hand last night and it's gonna be the nails in his coffin. He showed that he's a globalist and is more concerned with getting a "consensus" than in protecting America. When all the dirt on the "oil for food" program comes out and everyone sees how corrupt the UN is and how Kofi Annan is a crook along with Russia, France and Germany being in Saddam's pocket, then Kerry's pandering to them will be egg all over his face.

Most Americans love AMERICA and want her protection to come FIRST. Only the die hard socalist leftists agree with getting global approval before we do anything to protect ourselves. Kerry ALREADY had the vote of those losers. Those John and Jane Q Public undecideds out there saw Kerry exposed last night. They will vote Bush.

GWB landslide!

On another note: I, like many of you, was disappointed that Bush didn't pin Kerry down on many of his misleading statements, and was wondering what "swing voters" would think.

Then, this morning, I overheard a conversation in the men's room, where one of my colleagues, a dyed-in-the-wool liberal, was asked by another colleague about the debate. "I think they both did well", said the liberal. Maybe Kerry didn't really hit a home run last night...

Quit debating the debate. Quit wishing George Bush had knocked out John Kerry in the debate. At best, it was a draw. Quit expecting the Swift Boat Sailors to come up with a knockout ad. Quit expecting the Bush Campaign to come up with a knockout ad. This is not a computer game or TV movie. The good guys don’t always win. This election will probably be as close as the 2000 election. The only way we keep John Kerry out of the White House is by voting.

Go to www.georgewbush.com to volunteer, register, or donate. Or better yet, turn off your computer, call the local George W. Bush Campaign and volunteer your time. Getting out the conservative vote is the only way to keep America free. If each of you can find one or two more conservative votes in the next thirty days, we will send John Kerry home.

Call your local campaign today and volunteer. You will meet some really great people who will lift your spirits. I am amazed at the numbers of eighteen-year old students coming in to register and volunteering to help. There are a lot of wonderful young high school and college people out working to get President Bush reelected. We have people volunteering from their teens into their eighties. Please join them and volunteer. This election is much too critical to let it slip through our fingers. Get out and work for it. No excuses.

After the Titanic hit the iceberg, the bands played on and the dancing continued for a time but the ship was already as good as at the bottom of the sea.

Since Kerry's nomination I have been praying for icebergs. The salute, reporting for duty and the Swiftees were the first. Last night the "global test" opened the gash wider in the side of the ship. The President's pros and all of us have to stress the phoney patriotism and the socialistic core these icebergs represent.

The hype and the glitz of the moment in the Kerry Kampaign hide the fact his ship is starting to list.

Patience, keep the faith and keep praying for more icebergs.

Are you suggesting that we Republicans are not doing this as well as supporting the Swiftees? I am and I know many others that are as well. But one fact is indisputable. Kerry took a hard kick in the gut and in the polls both when the SwiftVet Ads came out. I think it is disingenuious to imply that the SwiftVets cannot impact the rest of this election.
