Where is the will to fight when we are attacked? Does the senator From the north personify a lack of will? He surely represents those whom have already forgotten what happened on 9/11. Those who are allready wanting to forget and give up because it looks like we're taking some hits in Iraq. Can we really quit now?
During a debate,Bush lost sight of the ball for a while. He,of all people, seemed to forget what this is all about. It's not about his survival as president,it's about the survival of this great nation and if we don't believe that,we all might as well become fundamentalist muslims now.
In our hearts we can question whether Iraq is a proper part of the strategy to destroy our enemies(honestly now,do any of us really have that answer?). The senator and his followers however, would have us think that we need only clean up Afghanistan and it'll be over. He remains the leader of those who give the enemy strenght by demonstrating a lack unity and an inability to stay resolute in this battle for survival (shades of Vietnam). Fact: The enemy is amoung us and isn't John"Nuance"Kerry looking like their leader. PRESIDENT BUSH___ ITS THE COUNTRYS SURVIVAL YOU NEED TO BE CONCERNED WITH NOT YOURS! GET THAT? AND WE ALL WIN.
This is not about who's the best talker. I agree with Koch (former NYC mayor) many who call themselves Democrats don't have the stomach for this war. Bush will stay the course. Kerry can't be trusted to do the same.
Kerry must not win. _________________ Warriors who are elected to public office should no longer be trusted to speak for brothers at arms. |

Bush flubbed the first Debate probably because of his handlers urging him to be cautious -- to avoid rocking he boat with independents. He really lost opportunities to nail Kerry on Kerry's incoherent positions, which Dick Morris noted in his commentary on BOR last night.
The media is rooting for Kerry, and this may contribute to Bush's tension on the podium, knowing that any twitch, tick or gaff will be magnified a hundred fold by a hostile press. _________________ Ted Harwood, Ph.D.

Agreed. George Bush did play it safe and I'm not too sure that it wasn't the correct thing to do at this point. When you're the champion, your challenger must take it away from you. John Kerry did look better, but George Bush still holds most of the cards.
Attack and defending? In my humble opinion, none of this means anything to John Kerry as the only thing he is focused on is to take power in the Presidency. If Kerry is elected, the war will go on in the very same way it is going on now and in time the American military presents will end or at least not dominate the news. On the home front, bet the farm on Kerry doing the ole tax and spend routine to pay down the war debt , and restart all those feel good-do nothing pork, welfare and social programs. _________________ FIRE MISSION: Kerry campaign in line of sight. |

I am not trying to be an apologist or make an excuse, but The President did well. If the AWOL(from the Senate) Sen. Kerry looked more alert and steady it is because he spent the day getting manicured and coiffed. Mr. Bush was busy doing his job as President. He had visited the Hurricane areas earlier as well. Kerry's words are what will be noted, not the image, which is all he is anyway. _________________ 8th Army Korea 68-69 |

I'm getting what you're saying_ I don't think Bush faired as bad as it's been made.
We must not forget, however, that the elite media was waiting for an opening.
All the indicators were that Bush was running away with this election, with help from the Swifties and others.
The noises we are getting now from the collective mind, seem to show a closer race now.
What we can take from that is that, the debate didn't help the cause.
Sorry,Thats just how I see it.
We have to work harder at this; We've seen many times how a slick talker can snow gullible heads to their side. Lets not allow that to happen here. _________________ Warriors who are elected to public office should no longer be trusted to speak for brothers at arms. |
