CBS Producer: Truth Irrelevant

CBS (search) is defending its story on Beverly Cocco of Philadelphia, whom CBS said was an ordinary parent, "petrified" that her sons could be forced into the military after receiving mass e-mails saying a draft was pending. CBS failed to mention that the Selective Service has declared it has no plans to conduct a draft, that those e-mails were debunked long ago, and that Ms. Cocco heads a group called "Parents Against the Draft."

Well, CBS correspondent Richard Schlesinger, who reported the piece, insists that rumors of a draft, "[have] gotten people all riled up" and "Whether or not there's any reality to [them] is almost besides the point." Schlesinger's producer goes even further, telling the blog INDC Journal, "the truth of the [mass] e-mails were absolutely irrelevant."

This has been posted on another topic and I recommended that it be bumped up. I also stated that we need to start sending letters to newspapers, especially campus newspapers to set the record straight. The only ones even thinking about a draft are the Democrats. Rep. Rangel(D-N.Y. ) and a Democrat Senator have introduced bills. The co-sponsors are all Democrats.

Not only all Democrats, but all but two of the seventeen co-sponsors are members of either the Congressional Progressive Caucus or the Congressional Black Caucus (both SOCIALIST in ideology!) or they are members of both Caucuses.

Nice to see Concocted Bull Snit telling the truth for a change, however inadvertently. Their boy Kerry has that habit, too. Wink

It is CBS that is irrelevant, and that's the truth.

UNBELIEVABLE!!

If the mass e-mails have "gotten people all riled up" wouldn't a
thinking person believe that the RELEVANT part of the story should
be to inform those people that they have been debunked!

Schlesinger and his producer live in a foggy world of lies and
manipulation.

It's called PROPAGANDA, and CBS is full of it.

Hmm... let's spread a rumor via a mass e-mailing that Richard Schlesinger and Dan Rather have come out of the closet hand in hand to fess up to being homosexuals. And that they have applied for a marriage license in Massachusetts so that they can wed and begin an alternate lifestyle together as husband and err... husband. However Dan's three convictions for child molestation are holding the license up. Let Dan and Richard get "all riled up" and then let's see if they think that the truth is all but irrelevant.

CBS also had the Coonie Chung interviewing Newt Gingrich's mom and in the interview told Newt's mom it was just between them and wouldn't be broadcast but still kept the camera going and still broadcast her reply about Hilary .

In 2000 one of the networks (I think it may have been CBS) had a story of what appeared to be a old woman who couldn't afford her medicines attacking Bush.It turned out she was a high up person in some union who was on the Gore campaing and was not poor.

I posted this on another thread but it is relivent here also:

The media want Kerry to win. They’re going to portray Kerry and Edwards as being young and dynamic and optimistic, and this glow is going to be worth maybe 15 points."

— Newsweek Editor Evan Thomas

Can't get more blatent then that.
