Take a step back. Take a deep breadth. Relax. Re-focus on something else for a while. After you're refreshed, get back in the game. It's the last quarter with only a few minutes left to play. Then it will be over and you will smile.

Amen on taking breaks and using the mute button and doing something fun.
Hubs says that on Nov 3rd, he's putting me up in a hotel nearby for a few days. No computer, no phones, no research books, no history books, only trashy novels and craft/art books allowed.
I've been thinking that I just might take him up on it.

The much needed break has come to an end......I was glued to the debates and was shocked not by Kerry,,,,,but how Bush was caught dumfounded,,,,,,why wasn't he prepped for the cause and effect of his actions?
Can anyone point me to a specific thread posting that discusses this? I am sure there are quite a few.
Over here in Greater Cincinnati, Kerry ads are flooding the airwaves, drowning out anything even close to reality.
Just curious to know if anyone has been seeing the same in thier neighborhood. _________________ Kerry's plight of a liar is predictable............History will erase him shortly after he loses the election...and this fool won't waste any of our time anymore.
But the efforts to hold him accountable, are notorious and will be a page in History. |

Hey Dunbar,
I'm in Cincy too, but I guess I'm blocking out Kerry ads. I've been looking at cars and front yards to see who is showing support for which canidate.
I see way more support for Bush in my unscientific analysis.
On getting burned out, I just stop for a day at leat once a week and tune out. Then I hit it hard again making sure I get the right info and keep sending off e-mails.
Oh, I've been using the heck out of the mute button too! My favorite victim for the mute is Alan Colmes!
One of my friends who is a Bush supporter and his Dad is a VN vet cannot even speak about the campaign. He says he'll stay tuned out until election night because he cannot handle it anymore. I would bet a lot of people feel that way. _________________ Mad as Hell! |

Pretty much the same up here in northeastern Ohio - lots of Kerry ads, some from 527s I've never heard of before. RNC ads seem pretty tame by comparison. We need to light things up, fast. |

Bush was dumbfounded? Quite frankly, so was I. I was actually stunned into silence by the ridiculous, assinine, irresponsible and utterly false statements being made by Kerry during the debate. Me! Stunned silent! Almost never happens, folks.
Anyway...
I think if I had been out meeting and visiting with hurricane disaster victims all day, getting the usual briefings the POTUS receives during the day, making about 450 decisions, both large and small, then standing up in front of 65 million people (an hour past my bedtime because I start my day at 5 am, not 10 am like JfnK) I might have been caught a little short, myself.
I was not believing my ears listening to Kerry. I was outraged by the blithe and lying tongue of the putrid toad that is John Kerry. Is the President not human? Is he not excused the gentleman's shock, and even lack of composure, when confronted by one so blantantly, shockingly vapid and foolish?
It was ever so nice of Jim "The Unbiased" Lehrer to use Kerry's NYU speechlet as the basis for his "questions" of Kerry. What a joke that was. These debates have become ridiculous and are utterly useless, thanks to the OIM. And just who in the heqq are these moronic, brain dead "undecideds" anyway? I want to purchase one, put it in a petri dish, and see what develops. I think I could grow a virulent culture from the Undecided host plant (aka "The Undecided Voter" ) weaponize it, and use it against terrorists. Turn it into a fine powder and spray it over the Middle East. Suddenly, Islamofascist jihadist maniacs would be turned into "undecided voters/zombies" that would not be able to decide from one day to the next if they were Muslims, Buddhists, Christians, Hindus or Jews.
Save on a lot of bullets and bombs. |

I think I need a break now. I've decided to run up to Oklahoma to the casino to test John Kerry's theory on outcomes. Since he only makes a decision if he knows the outcome in advance I will sit in front of my slot machine and demand to know the outcome before I put in my money and spin the reels. _________________ Nomorelies Make a donation HERE |

I like the Keno machines - if you stick with 4-5 numbers, you can actually make a little money while you're killing time. _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~

Yep, I work in quite a few high-end subdivisions and I see a ton more Bush/Cheney signs than Kerry/Edwards signs.
I used the word dumbfounded as loose fitting. I know that Bush did his part that morning helping those in Florida with the relief.
Unlike Kerry who napped and had a manicure. There is some validity to my statement that he was a little edged towards the end,,,,,,,but his message is clear and his points are purely factual...unlike Kerry.
I read on a MSNBC poll that Kerry is toting more money in this campaign.......but he took from federal money which probably limits him in many ways.
This false momentum that democrats are spinning will stop when Cheney stomps Edwards.....and hopefully Bush stands firm and holds Kerry accountable for his lies.

I still think Bush is going to have to serious change his debate strategy.
IMHO, Bush prepared for the 9/30/04 debate by going over Kerry's flip-flops based on Kerry's PREVIOUS speeches, and had prepared statements about Kerry's most outrageous PREVIOUS gaffes ("coalition of the coerced and bribed", etc.).
But I don't think that Bush was really listening to Kerry, and actively rebutting what Kerry was saying live and in color for 60 million viewers. For example, when Kerry said:
"The president just said the FBI had changed its culture. We just read on the front pages of America's papers that there are over 100,000 hours of tapes, unlistened to. On one of those tapes may be the enemy being right the next time."
To which Bush replied, "I work with Director Mueller of the FBI; comes in my office when I'm in Washington every morning, talking about how to protect us. There's a lot of really good people working hard to do so."
But a better rebuttal would have been: "If you believe that listening to FBI tapes is important, why did you try to cut the intelligence budget by $6 billion in 1993?"
It's not enough for Bush and his assistants to analyze these outrageous lies AFTER the debate and try to rebut them through his campaign. If the lies go un-rebutted, some clueless voters watching the debates might believe them, and not bother checking the Bush website, or might not hear the soundbite of the rebuttal on the CBS evening news. He needs to rebut these things live and in color, at the risk of looking nasty and calling Kerry a liar. But if he calls Kerry a liar, he is only telling the truth!!!
Seriously, Bush cannot afford two more debates like the one on 9/30/04. He will HAVE to be more agressive, and LISTEN to what Kerry says, so he can rebut him with the truth. _________________ The traitor will crater! |

I have been debating politics agaisnt the liberals for years and have felt like I was burned out too. Try and get away from it all even if it is just for a few hours. And try and look at humerous threads too ,it gives you a break for all the serious stuff. |

Coming from someone who worked on those machines for 5 years, it is all luck. Been about 7 years since the last time I was at a casino to gamble. |
