Did anyone just catch the Big Story Weekend with Rita Cosby? During the interview Rita asked Donald Rumsfeld if he believed Osama Bin Laden was still alive since some military leaders had speculated he was probably dead. Rumsfeld answered that although we have not seen OBL in a new video since December 2001 he believes he is still alive. Then he added that OBL would probably WANT to be in a new video tape but for some reason could not. Very, very mysterious answer.

My question: did anyone else hear this and read anything into it as I did or am I just drinking kool-aid.

I didn't see it. But I sort of wish everyone's focus on OBL would go away. I don't think he is, or ever has been, the real leader of Al Queda. I've read that the real leaders merely used him for his money. When we get that Egyptian doctor who is touted as his second-in-command, I think we'll be getting real close to cutting the head off the snake.

I kinda got the impression (maybe wishful thinking) that Rumsfeld may know where OBL is. October surprise??

I don't see a transcript. It was an interview filmed earlier and played on Rita Cosby's show. However, Fox may rerun it tonight later. Listen carefully when he gives a Rumsfeld answer to whether OBL is alive. He indicates he thinks OBL is alibe and said something to the effect that although we have not seen him in a video he probably would like to be seen but for some reason (???) cannot make a video now.
