This sorry movie is not playing in Boise, Idaho. However, would it be possible to have the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth ads run in the theathers prior to "UP the River"? |

Are the atrocities Kerry spoke of and claims he committed depicted in this movie? _________________ Enlighten the people, generally, and tyranny and oppressions of body and mind will vanish like spirits at the dawn of day.

Is this "movie" supposed to be a "documentary" based on Tour of Doody? (my spelling).
First Moore's piece of caca, to try to tear Bush down, now this one to try to build Kerry up.
Both had the opposite intended effect upon me.

Doesn't Ebert have a show on TV? With Sponsors? Guess it's time to
contact sponsors again, will never watch it again, (never did anyway) but
that's beside the fact. Will let sponsors know I will be boycotting their products. As for Ebert, ugh, what a dipwad. |

SHIP OF FOOLS -----------
Movie critics go gaga over Going Upriver. Well, so what. If you go back and look at the track record of movie critics, there is rarely a popular film
that the critics liked. In fact, most of the "critically acclaimed" films were
box office bombs. What is different about Going Upriver is that it is
nothing more than slickly crafted 90 minute infomercial for Kerry released a mere 33 days before the election and the vast majority of critics fail
to point this out. Looks like some of the "critics" have their thumbs up their asses.
And then there is this review of Apocolypse Now in 78' from the Boston
Herald. Guess who?
Quote: | On more than one occasion, I, like Martin Sheen in Apocalypse Now, took my patrol boat into Cambodia. In fact, I remember spending Christmas Eve of 1968 five miles across the Cambodian border being shot at by our South Vietnamese allies who were drunk and celebrating Christmas. The absurdity of almost being killed by our own allies in a country in which President Nixon claimed there were no American troops was very real." |
