nearly all of the "Letters To The Editor" messages received after the debate were sent from machines inside the 'democrats.org' and 'moveon.org" organizations!

I was the Letters editor for the Raleigh News and Observer several years back and we had the same policy. I could spot a 'letter campaign' with that same 'spidey eye' and wouldn't publish any of them. That was before algore invented the internet...  and they all came in via snail mail.
From what I read in Letters' columns I don't think most newspapers are that careful these days. I'm glad to see the SacBee is! Thanks for the link.

When I searched for all headers containing "democrats.org," I found 47 of the 82 debate letters had been sent from that Web site. (The mail came from six specific machines - 192.168.10.21 through 192.168.10.26.)
Further checking revealed that an additional 22 letters had been generated by moveon.org (machine 64.124.204.39). The number of moveon.org mail swelled to 77 pieces by noon.

Sheesh, and they didn't even use tunneling or masquerading for their internal network. Sloppy, very sloppy.
