[quote="diane in IL"]forgive me if this subject has come up already... I haven't had time to read all the comments. But has anyone noticed that when John Edwards was asked "If John Kerry had been in charge over the last 4 years.... would Saddam Hussein still be in power?", John Edwards never gave an answer. I waited breathlessly for a yes or no, and it never came. I hope these Heads point that out.

there were many things he did not answer. it was such a unbelievably disgusting display of word twisting and answer dodging.

I wish Cheney could have pointed out strongly that even if we totally wipe out al Qaeda tomorrow, that is only about 1% of the problem.

Well that was like shooting road kill!

Once again I'm left with one question...

Where the hell was the debate? That was like watching Arnold Schwarzenegger fight Peewee Herman!

Once again one man showed up

And the others face is on a milk carton

Cheney, kicked butt! Case closed. Edwards, looked like a brat! The best line..was where have you been, I have never met you in until tonight! Bringing up Kerry's lack of record..and Edwards Not showing up at intel meetings..classic debate style..Cheney, was commanding, adult and in charge. Bush will be energized, it is going to be good...we are back up..

My husband also made the same observation. He would watch Cheney's face and say "uh oh, he is going to come up with a zinger"... and sure enough he would Laughing

I found this little interesting nugget:

Cheney was awesome--full of facts, smart and articulate!

Now he should give debating lessons to President Bush!!! There are still two debates left...

This is how the piece of crap cnn.com headlines the debate on home page:

Differences dominate VP debate
Washington veteran Dick Cheney and relative newcomer John Edwards used their only scheduled debate to hit the each other on issues from Iraq and Afghanistan to same-sex marriage and malpractice liability caps. Cheney pointed to health and education initiatives as domestic success stories of the last four years. Edwards said: "I don't think the country can take four more years."

Cheney came across as the REAL DEAL! Edwards came across as someone sent to do someone else's work. Had to make sure he hit all the points on his list Mom told him to make. That was a pleasure to watch!

Make sure you vote in the "who won the debate" polls if you think Cheney won...the Kerry people flooded the polls last time and that's what gave Kerry the 'bump'. Of course when the regular polls came out they still show Bush with a lead. Just checking around the net I see Edwards is ahead in every poll.

I thoroughly enjoyed the debate tonight...no doubt Cheney wiped the floor with Edwards!

All in all I think Dick Cheney mopped up John Edwards nicely.I'm still reeling from the revelation that wealthy John Edwards used a loophole to avoid paying his fair share of medicare taxes. So much for his concern about health care for all Americans.

This debate had me cheering!

YES! Go for the throat!

YES! Move in for the kill!

The Vice President did a wonderful job and I'm laughing my butt off at the DNC and Kerry Kampf talking heads that are spinning this into an Edwards win. A win on what? This was clearly the VP's debate virtually start to finish. Edwards almost got a glove on him a few times, but Cheney just kept jabbing.

And I was impressed with the quality of the moderator, too. What a breath of fresh air, not to have unevenly loaded questions addressed to the two candidates!

And how good it is to hear substantive discussion, especially when one side has such a clear command of the facts.

I am so proud of our VP!
