Nomorelies-I don't know where you live in Texas but the schools here do teach a lot of liberal claptrap. My 4 kids graduated from high school between 1992-1996 and we were at the school quite often fighting with the school officials. My husband wanted to get a degree to teach and the liberal crap they wanted him to spew was enough of a deterrent for him. Now my oldest daughter is studying to get her teaching certificate. Same problem. I know personally of 4 teachers in the Austin area who quit in the past few years because of the liberalism in the schools and they couldn't deal with it any longer. They felt like they were drowning in a cesspool of liberalism. It's everywhere. All we have to do is look around. No one is safe. It has even infiltrated the churches. It did the one I attended for over 25 years. I apologize if you find this boring. |

I'd like to know if the MSM has picked up on this story as well. There's no indication what age the students were. I'm assuming that this is a government class at the high school level, or possibly a middle school social studies class. I can't see any reason for any teacher bringing F911 to school otherwise, unless it was a part of an ongoing project.
I taught for a year in the Houston ISD, and though I sometimes used videos to illustrate a story we were reading, or as additional material for a science or history lesson, I was very particular what I showed the children. For example, although I consider the movie "Patriot" to be a great movie, and probably more historically accurate portrayal of the revolutionary war, I could never show it in my classroom because it's too graphic and violent. Never mind that my 5th graders probably saw worse on TV and at the movies. That's just the way we have to act to cover our tushies. I had to be careful how I talked about God, too, no religious proselytising allowed, even when teaching about the meaning of Christmas and Hannukah. (I don't count Kwanzaa as a religious holiday).
I guess that's why I decided to just be a substitute, instead of looking for a full time teaching job. At this point, I don't think I want the aggravation of being a full-time teacher in the public school system.
If there is any justice in this country, that teacher will probably learn that lesson the hard way.

I just happened to have a reason to scope out
Michael Moore's website a while ago, and he
actually has a "teacher's guide" available for
teachers to use when they show their class.

Just heard on the Howie Carr show on WRKO –
The father of that student just called to say that his daughter’s teacher brought in a DVD of F911 and told the kids that everything in it was true. He punished the caller’s child for complaining. The attorney father and Howie are going to follow this up with a State Rep and the Governor.
It is R rated!

If any more teachers shove F9/11 down their students throats, the school board should force that same teacher to show Farenhype 9/11, Dick Morris' counter punch to the stuff in that film. Otherwise, it shows the partisan view of the teacher and the school. That would stop those teachers from showing it, for the last thing they want their students to see is the other side.
I don't see the point to the teachers showing it to students under the voting age either. Unless the teacher thinks they will run home to their parents and try to influence their parent's vote. |

Just a hint, wednesdaychild--Consider the fact that, in a forum like this, you really have no idea which or how many people you are insulting when you make a statement like that--C _________________ “I haven’t seen anyone milk this much out of a bad boat ride since Gilligan” -- Dennis Miller |

Beyond that, however, am I the only one who finds the fact that the kid's father is an attorney to be classically poetic?--LOL!!--C _________________ “I haven’t seen anyone milk this much out of a bad boat ride since Gilligan” -- Dennis Miller |
