Back in 1992, all Hillary talked about was how she and Slick were going to initiate national health insurance. They went nowhere with it after being elected.
Maybe this was mentioned in this string but I couldn't search every page.
Wasn't Edwards back hand compliment to Cheney about his family just a way for him to mention that Cheney's daughter is gay?
Cheney looked pissed, didn't make a 30 second comment and at the end thanked the moderator, but not Lightweight Edwards. |
Edwards has no shame. What he said to Cheney about his daughter was certainly an effort to dig at him and make him uneasy. It was a low blow and Cheney handled it well. _________________ Misty

Forget the silly online polls that desperate Dems are stuffing, here's what even some bias commentators are saying. From Kerry Spot at NRO.
NBC's Tom Brokaw: "Dick Cheney Reminded Me Of George Foreman, Kind Of A Slow Gait, But A Powerful Right-Hand When He Unleashed It In A Number Of Areas As He Went After The Kerry-Edwards Ticket." (NBC's "Special Coverage," 10/5/04)
MSNBC's Ron Reagan: "This Time, I Think The Chattering Classes, And I Include All Of Us Among Them, Will Come Out On The Side Of There Was A Stature Gap There, And It Was To Cheney's Advantage." (MSNBC's "Hardball," 10/5/04)
MSNBC's Chris Matthews Calls The Debate Between Vice President Cheney The "Howitzer" And Senator John Edwards The "Water Pistol." (MSNBC's "Hardball," 10/05/04)
MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell: "I Think Dick Cheney Did Awfully Well, At, First Of All, Putting John Edwards In His Place. Saying That I Have Been Presiding Over The Senate, And I Didn't Meet You Until Tonight. Talking About His Not Having Been On The Job Was Pretty Devastating." (MSNBC's "Hardball," 10/5/04)
MSNBC's Joe Scarborough: "I Tell You, Tonight, No Doubt About It, Edwards Got Obliterated By Dick Cheney. This Is The Most Surprising Part. This Debate Actually Turned In Cheney's Direction When They Started Talking About Domestic Issues. I Thought Cheney Handled The Foreign Policy Issues Very Well." (MSNBC's "Hardball," 10/5/04) |

The ******** are really hammering the online polls. World Net Daily put up their poll about three hours ago and already have almost 7,000 votes for Edwards.
I've watched the WND polls for several years. They never have that much activity in such a short period of time because they are put up late at night. Also, WND usually has a very conservative audience.
I guess the ******** are really working to make the illusion that Edwards won when in reality he got demolished. I just hope that the people see through the illusion being promoted by the MSM.

I believe that Edwards said "the rich" pay a lower Federal Income Tax RATE (15%) on dividends that the rates paid by "troops on the ground in Iraq".
I thought all military pay in a combat zone is excluded from FIT taxation at least for enlisted (it was during Vietnam, and was $500/mo. for officers).
Did the rules change or was this just another in a long string of Kerry/Edwards lies/distortions? _________________ Retired USN Capt.; Market Time vicinity ChuLai 6/67-2/68; Maddox 8/64 Tonkin Gulf; NGFS I Corps 6-12/65; Saigon evac. 4/75. |

Cheney was the clear winner. And Gwen Ifill asked perfect questions. She set Edwards up several times. |

Someone should come out and say what we ALL know is true......the media only reports on bad news. Bombings, killings, ect make headlines and TV stories....here and from Iraq. Someone should come out and say that if you base your perspective on Iraq soley from TV and headline news, that your perspective is skewed negative. We don't see anything possitive on TV about Iraq because that doesn't make good ratings.
If someone were say that plainly in response to some these whacky "mess" charges, that whole arguement would wither.
Why can't they say what most of us see as obvious? |
They should ask Edwards "Israel has car bombings all the time was creating Israel a mistake ?" |

honest mistake - the .org and .com thing. When I first joined this site I thought it was swiftvets.org and when you went to that it was a mock up of this site saying to vote for Kerry. Let the little tree hugger computer science majors from Berkeley have their fun. People will figure it out. |

Edwards said the troops in combat are paying higher taxes than rich people. That could be a big "gotcha". I've been retired for a while (so do not know current policy) but spent many years in the Gulf area on active duty and had special tax status the whole time, even long after Gulf War 1 was over. The whole region was considered a combat zone so the tax status extends to many more than just those in Iraq.
The RNC needs to jump on this big time. |

good catch!
I can't get over how a filthy rich candidate can talk about how the rich need to pay more in taxes. When and where does he plan to give back what he has unfairly saved?! Hypocrite! Him and Kerry both. The best one was Ben Affleck at a Kerry fund raiser telling cameras that he thought it was horrible that his tax status saved him $100K last year. Oh really Ben? Isn't that about what Jen's ring cost? When are you going to donate that saved cash to some worthy cause? These people should shut up and stick to movie scripts. |

I got the impression, from Cheney's careful dissection of the "good hair boys" Senate attendance record, that the two of them considered attendance optional! I guess rich boys of privilege don't need to actually go to their jobs like you or me. Considering the light schedule the Senate has, you would think that they could fit it in between windsurfing and polo!
The President and the V.P. don't get to take a year off to campaign. Look at last Thursday. The President was out comforting hurricane victims and assessing damages, while Kerry was out getting a "man"icure (or is that (wo)manicure). I mean, who cares about America, and who cares about himself? _________________ Everytime he had a choice, Kerry chose to side with communists rather than the United States. |

The dirtly little secret is that it will only apply to earnings, not money hidden in trusts etc. Only the working people of the country will be penalized by Kerry/Edwards, not those already wealthy. _________________ Everytime he had a choice, Kerry chose to side with communists rather than the United States. |
