Was curious of news of the AG investigating the Rathergate fiasco. _________________ A common mistake people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

There hasn't been anything in the local news but they just started and I doubt that we will be hearing anything for a while. _________________ VAW-11 NAS North Island 1961-1966

I've seen nothing on it from here (Dallas area). Frankly, I'm not holding my breath. |

Have only heard the AG has turned this matter over to the investigative branch of the Texas Rangers.

Just wanted to let you guys know, and this may not mean anything, but James B. Francis is the Chairman of the Department of Public Safety and was appointed by George W. Bush when he was Governor. I know that he was Chairman a year ago, but do not know if he is still in the position. I have to believe that Jim will do what he can to be not only fair in this, but to ensure that justice is done in Texas. The Texas Rangers are part of the DPS. I can't see that he will sweep this under the table. I could be wrong.
Jim has been active in Republican politics for years and is a major contributor to the Republican party. His name was tossed around when the President was elected and it was thought he would be nominated for a Cabinet postion, but I think Jim preferred staying at home and was happy with the Chairman job he was appointed to with the DPS. |
