|

The Chicago machine approach to elections is to vote early and often. The Democrats have clearly taken this approach with the online polls. I'd like to see the bloggers on our side begin making a push for our people to begin helping them in their efforts: get our activists to vote for Kerry/Edwards in all of these polls as well. The more polls we get like this one:
PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER
Edwards = 99%
Cheney = 1%
will completely destroy the credibility of the online polls.
The Democrats do have an advantage in how their online activists are organized.
Efforts like this one are true, natural grass roots efforts. The online organizations put together by MoveOn and the Howard Dean people that were moved to Kerry fall more into the category of a highly cultivated and cared for agricultural effort (probably with grow lamps if you get my drift).
They are able to more easily get their people to take specific actions at a specific point in time.
By "helping them out" we can blunt the ultimate effect of their efforts.

Was that Philadelphia Inquirer poll result real?
I wonder if they'll be advertising that one?
That was exactly what I was hoping for, yesterday - if we could do that with all the online polls on Friday night, we could do one heck of a job of discrediting online polls, for good.
How FUN!
Anybody want to bring this up on Free Republic, or is it already being discussed there? (I don't get out much, any more. ) _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~

Quote: | SOMEWHERE, SOME DNC FLACK IS TAKING THESE NUMBERS SERIOUSLY...
I am told that the DNC is, via e-mail, distributing the results of the online polls. Here's what they sent out, according to my correspondent:
CURRENT POLL NUMBERS — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — - CNN —
Edwards = 82%
Cheney = 14%
Tied = 4%
— — — — — — — —
MSNBC —
Edwards = 71%
Cheney = 29%
— — — — — — — —
FOX NEWS
Edwards = 56%
Cheney = 42%
Didn't watch = 1%
NOTA = 1%
— — — — — — — —
ORLANDO SENTINEL
Edwards = 76%
Cheney = 24%
Not sure = <1%
— — — — — — — — -
PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER
Edwards = 99%
Cheney = 1%
LOL!!! Go Philly folks! Are they *sure*
PA is a swing state?
— — — — — — — — -
SOUTH FLORIDA SUN-SENTINEL
(oooh, can you say "shut out"?)
Which candidate was better on the issues?
Edwards = 94.7%
Cheney = 5.3%
Which candidate seemed more knowledgeable about fighting terrorism?
Edwards = 92.8%
Cheney = 7.2%
Which candidate was the most credible?
Edwards = 94.8%
Cheney = 5.2%
Regardless of your thoughts about the issues, which candidate do you think
performed better during the debate?
Edwards = 94.4%
Cheney = 5.6%
— — — — — — — -
CBS NEWS
Edwards = 77%
Cheney = 21%
Tie = 2%
Now - we know online polls are self-selecting, which means anybody can tell his like-minded friends to visit that URL and vote for their guy. So no reporter or other person seeking to assess the election should rely on one.
But how much of a fool do you have to be to think that a Philly Inquirer poll showing 99 to 1 is an accurate assessment of the electorate's view?
In our allegedly 50-50 nation, how realistic is it to think one candidate would clobber the other by 50 points?
Last night, a combination of DNC poll spam orc enthusiasm and Pajamahadeen guile helped illustrate the uselessness of these polls - and the gullibility of certain Democrats looking for good news.

NUKE 'EM! I'm in. One more reason to look forward to Friday! I am more in favor of abstinence though...it seems easier to explain in the face of MSM spin after the fact...
and yes, they are treating these as real...I just got my latest Pravda, straight from the DNC, and they actually quoted these obviously skewed numbers.... _________________ Warm Regards,

This is too funny!!! That the numbers are so out of whack is one thing, but that the DNC is USING them is hilarious!
Careful, McAuliffe, they put people in rubber rooms for displaying this level of delusion. _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~

Anyone see Tom Browkaw the other day,
when he and "IAMGODJennings" were
expressing their support of sad Dan?
Browkaw was whining about the "Pajama
Gehad" that's been taking over the net.
He was very grumpy about people getting
news from other sources. _________________

Count me in........gee go tell everyone. Great idea! Most conservatives will go do this, where we generally won't go vote on those online polls because we know its pointless. |

Finally! I have been 'polled' a couple of time now about how I intend to vote (like it is anybody's damned business). In both instances I LIED to the moron on the other end of the phone. Since these polls put me in a pool of 600, and 750 voters, my single 'accidental' misstatement moved the poll results about 2/10ths of a point, hopefully pushing some more of our people to the polls on the 2nd.
Did it with a straight face too! I have been telling everybody to do the same.
Just to mess with their heads.
I had not thought of doing push polling on the web however, better for my 'instant gratification' mentality. It would be cool if the vote put some funds into the SwiftVet coffers. Two birds and all.
Wouldn't it be nice for the MSM to 'get' that nobody is going to deal with their crap anymore by finding out on the 2nd that THEY were lied to by US, their nameless minions. |

I'm in...emailing the idea to all my friends... what an idea!!
That will give them a level of assurance, that in reality, they don't have. Can't believe they rely on such stupidity as "online" polls, knowing people just sit there and click, click, click. I can't wait until Nov. 3rd to see Terry McAuliffe drooling on himself when "Pres. Bush has been elected for 4 more years" is announced! _________________ -------------------

Same here. I'm in. Finally a good reason to vote online.
Vote for Kerry so the online polls become (more) worthless. Great idea. |
