This Friday the second presidential debate will take place, and we are
determined to make sure that the focus of the war against terrorism is
not relegated to secondary status.

To that end, we will be stepping up our television advertising
campaign with national TV ads on the Fox News Channel network. During
the first debate, Fox News led their rivals in the ratings (with over
9.5 million viewers) and so it makes the most sense to put our ad
dollars there.

We have three spots about to enter rotation.

The first two feature a mother of a U.S. Marine and the wife of an
Army National Guardsman who are serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom.
[The third spot we will unveil in a few days – and it is a hard-hitting
spot that really takes to task those who seek to undercut support for
our troops and their mission in Iraq.] The ads featuring the mother
and wife are more personal and heartfelt.
