|
|
A while back I tried to get tickets to a Kerry/Edwards rally to peacefully protest. Ever since, I've been bombarded by e-mails. This one really got me irked. They are planning on knocking on 1 million doors in battleground states this weekend. I looked at the link they sent and sure enough they are coming to our primarily conservative suburb (unfortunately our subdivision does not allow signs in yards, flags, or anything of the like, its pathetic, wish I lived in the country again). We have decided to move our extensive gun collection to the entry of our home in plain sight just to see their reaction! I think they will figure it out quickly and move on to the next home. Anyways, here is the letter I got from the campaign.
Quote: | Dear Jay,
Yesterday, we sent you an e-mail about the exciting grassroots mobilization going on this weekend. Volunteers organized by the Democratic Party will visit the homes of one million voters in the states where the election will be closest.
Never before has visiting one million voters been possible this early in October, but at every juncture of this campaign you have shattered records and eclipsed expectations. Now we need you to do it again.
It is time to turn off the computer, lace up your sneakers and do some old-fashioned on-the-street politics.
More than 700 Democratic Party canvasses are scheduled for this weekend. Our challenge to you: join other volunteers at a door-to-door canvass in your community and help elect John Kerry, John Edwards and Democrats down the ticket.
To find the canvasses scheduled for this weekend click the link below.
Show me canvasses in my state
On Friday, John Kerry and George Bush face off at the second presidential debate. During the weekend after the debate, when millions of undecided voters are still evaluating the candidates, we need you to help them make a decision by volunteering at a door-to-door canvass.
You will knock on doors and talk to voters face to face. Canvasses are one of the oldest traditions in American politics and make a big difference.
Thank you for what you've done so far, and what you're going to do this weekend and over the next 26 days.
We'll win when we join together.
Sincerely,
Mary Beth Cahill

Here is a link to see if they are coming to your town. Unfortunately, the list in Ohio is extremely large. I dont know the effect it will have with some people, but I'm sure it will tick a lot of people off!!!

They won't be knocking on my door when they see the stickers on it. Don't live in a battleground state, anyway. _________________ US Army Security Agency

You might consider temporarily taking down your Bush sign to encourage a "friendly" discussion and confrontation. We can always use additional recreational opportunities - and just think, if you can tie one or two of them up for a good half hour, that's less time for them to visit someone impressionable. |

I'll be at home, sitting on the front porch, casually cleaning the 12 gauge. No sense dragging out all the guns & rifles when 'Ol Trusty' will deliver the message.

Who in the world thought up the idea of going door to door.
What happened to the million veterans for Kerry drive, so far there are
millions who want to drive Kerry out.
Out where I live we get only the occasional Johevah's Witnesses
(nothing against their religion) the vast majority of homes across
the US hate people coming to the door. This could start a huge backlash against Kerry, again, people hate people knocking on thier doors to sell
something, whether it's religion, soap, or politicians. |

Hell, I wouldn't even give the liberal the satisfaction of knowing I'd bothered to chamber one. The mere sound of the pump action would be enough to have him wet his pants on the spot.

Yeah, but there is a huge difference between cycling the action dry, and that "thoooock" of air displaced in the barrel when a round goes up the spout, the barrel resonates like a pipe organ....
Then again, I'm probably hypersensitive. It's a Marine thing, perhaps. _________________ USMC 69-72, 7th Comm, 3rd MarDiv, FMFPAC

True enough, Cipher, re: the sound of the shell being chambered.... but then again, remember you're dealing with a group of bed-wetting liberals - they'll never appreciate or recognize the unmistakable sound!

I don't think anyone will stop at my house, as they will have to drive by the Bush/Cheney and other Republican signs alongside my driveway, ignore the Bumper stickers on our vehicles and even look over the bumper sticker on our front screen door! If they persist, however, I plan on asking them for several pieces of their literature and a Kerry bumper sticker or two as well. It will be great fun to cost their campaign a buck or two and will provide my four-year-old some paper to use while practicing learning to use his scissors! _________________ "Lord...Who may live on your holy hill? I guess an army drill sargeant reacts exactly the opposite of a bed-wetting liberal. Mom told me that one night when she was alone, she woke up and heard someone in the bathroom, so she got up quietly and chambered a round, and stopped my dad mid-stream. He'd come home unexpectedly and sneaked in so he wouldn't wake her. |

I would probably try to convert any Kerry KookAde drinkers who will sit and have a cup of coffee and look over my materials and discuss it with me.

We don't live in a battleground state. We live in Edwards' home state and it is solidly for Bush-Cheney!
A few weeks ago, though, a couple of kerryites came to the door and they got an earful from my husband about 'their guy'. Highly recommended that you speak to these people -- it's fun! _________________ TRUTH IS ALWAYS THE VICTOR |

We really don't have many Kerry /Edwards people around where I live. All I ever see are Bush/Cheney signs. I did have one thing happen that totly blew my socks off though.
The other night we were just sitting down to eat and the doorbell rang. I went and answered the door and there was a young man standing there with a heavy book. He asked politely if we were interested in an request form for an absenty ballot and that he also wanted to verify that the people registered to vote from this address were correct. I looked at the list and said yes his information was correct. I called our polling location and they verified that yes they had people out making sure that the people registered to vote actualy lived at the address that they had listed and they were doing this to try to eliminate any illegal registrations.
For once I was totally speachless lol! I think I just said Thank You! _________________ Proud to be an American! and member of the PAJAMAHADEEN

You Better be nice to them. They will probably be armed with "Weed Be Gone" to put a swastika on your lawn if you have a Bush sign. |
