Thought this might be a good time to repost this thread.
How about it?
Any of you anti-Bush people want to take a stab at it? _________________ "If he believes his 1971 indictment of his country and his fellow veterans was true, then he couldn't possibly be proud of his Vietnam service." |

why I will vote for George W. Bush.
1. God...he knows and believes in him.
2. Honor...he knows what it means...John Kerry does not.
3. Country...he knows what is means...John Kerry does not.
It is up to us to know what is the "truth" and what is what the liberal media is preaching. I can read a newspaper, I do watch other new sources than CBS, NBC, ABC or CNN. I do look for other views than just my own, but when it comes down to it...I have the common sense the Good Lord gave me to understand who will defend this country and who would not. I understood what it meant when President Bush said that winning this war on Terror would not be short lived and would cost and I did know by what cost he meant. I would be willing to go to Iraq today for this President if he asked me to. I want my children to be able to be safe and I want the war on Terror to stay in the middle east and no the streets of the USA. I may not always agree with George W. Bush, but I respect him and know what he says he means. I do know what John Kerry's record is on defense, I do know what John Kerry's patriotism really means. I may not be a Vietnam War vet, but I am a vet and I undetstand their resentment and their belief in making sure John Kerry is not elected. I may have my differences with the current President but I have learned a long time ago one can not be a one issue voter...one must look at who would be the better man...and in this case it is George W. Bush. I may not be a rocket scientist...but my Mama didn't raise no fool either. I have told my kids (ages 16 & 14) that the only way I would ever disown them...was if they voted democtatic! (and you can see I am not ashamed of who I am and my name is right there for everyone to see) |

Right on, TA. I am a Viet Nam Vet & despise JFKerry 100%. He derided & tried to shame all of the Nam Vets & then had the gall to show up at the Wall on Memorial Day weekend. He is a self described war criminal and trator for defying the Constitutional prohibition against negotiating with the enemy, especially while still under the jurisdiction of the UCMJ.
I believe that President Bush has the courage of his convictions. He told Sadam to obey the United Nations edicts & he didn't. Unlike Clinton, he is a man of his word. Unlike JFK, he doesn't lie about his military service. He opened his files, JFK doesn't have the courage to do so. That includes the medical records for his fake Purple Heart.
The liberals complain about the lack of WMDs. One WMD was responsible for the deaths of thousands of Kurds, 10s of thousands of Iranians, hundreds of Kuwaites, and 100s of thousands of Iraquis.
We found that WMD in a hole in the ground. He surrendered without a fight, the coward he was. How many more WMDs do they need to find? The economy is perking along, no terrorists attacks on USA soil, and in general, many things seem to be going along pretty well. Annoy a liberal, "be happy and go to work". _________________ USMC Nam Vet, |

Has anyone noticed that document that was released to the public re: Bush's 2005 budget cuts. If you havent take a look. As to the question posed at the top, I dont think it is fair. The past 5 presidents were unable to do much. This is a growing problem. Listen, GW promised a lot when he was on the campaign trail in 2000. He has barely accomplished any of it. Same holds true for Clinton. So when you ask a question regarding what the future presidents will do, take a good look at what the current president is doing. I am a marine dad and strongly support our troops, but how much is this war going to cost us? You mentioned an increase in taxes, what do you think the 100 billion spent on this war is free. Of course not, whoever is the next president is going to have to raise taxes just to offset this war. |

Salute to you and your Marine!
Historically, tax cuts have increased government revenues, raising taxes will likely not be necessary. Deficits following tax cuts have historically been caused by spending at a rate greater than the increase in revenue generated by tax cuts... the answer is to not spend beyond the revenue stream.
Regarding accomplishments, just like in our own lives, sometimes plans need to be adjusted due to circumstances that present themselves. Hard to imagine anything more demanding of a President's attention than an attack on our own soil. Wonder how much was accomplished in the four years following Pearl Harbor that was not directly related to the war... guess I should stop being lazy and look it up
I'm not sure I agree the question at the top is unfair, but I do agree that actions speak louder than promises.... that's why I'd like the following asked at the debates:
What have you accomplished in the last four years to earn the job as President of the United States?
Personally, I think that will be difficult for John Kerry to answer considering his performance in the senate. You may not like what Bush has done, but he has a record of accomplishment that you can either agree with or disagree with. John Kerry hardly ever shows up to vote, and when was the last major piece of legislation he authored or sponsored?
Side note to the moderators: good to see intelligent debate and conversation returning to the board... good job!
