Than we might think?

I have to wonder after doing some research about the Alger Hiss deal along with the infiltration of our Government over the years.

I find myself coming to the conclusion that a certain canidate is probably a communist even if he is too dumb to realize it.

Then there is Clinton who was in Moscow during Vietnam.

Carter did not standup to the Soviets and weakened us even more with the Iran thing which leads to all the BS today!

There are a couple of other things and points I could post too, but I think many of you will get what I'm saying.

Does anyone else think what is going on right now is a resurgence of Communism or at least deep Socialism? I'm 35, so I rely on history an my parents for analysis as to what Communism seeping through the cracks might feel like.

I think you'd be on perfectly safe ground to talk about a movement towards "collectivism" and away from "individualism."

I believe that it started with Lyndon Johnson's "Great Society" program. I think that John F. Kennedy was still on the side of individualism when he said:

Quote:
Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.

You are most likely right on target, and most of us here are already thinking it.

Roger that!! This election is the most important in my lifetime (60 years). It will define the future of this great country: back towards the principles of the founding fathers, or down into the abyss of socialism. Socialism didn't work for the Evil Empire, and it's not doing real great in Europe. So, why in the world would anybody want to go there? Sink Kerry Swiftly!

It's the big trap... "Collectiveism" needs leaders, right? Not free thinkers! Enter the elitists who will take care of you - all your thinking, all your needs, all your everything. In fact it's the most insiduous form of slavery (told me by an African-American facilitator at a race-relations seminar about 30 years ago).

The four horses of the apocolypse: collectivism, secularism, relativism, and globalism.

I guess I missed the mark in my post somewhat.

I understand that collectivism exist and what not, it's just that I was wondering if others feel the same.

Another thing is why is it not being labeled correctly? A few years ago I saw bor actually come out and say it out loud.

It really needs to be talked about out in the open for what is and not just Kerry's policies.

"Communism" and "Socialism" are just labels. Now that the Soviet Union has collapsed (but watch carefully for its reemergence), most people seem to think that "Communism" is dead - lost its leadership.

I've watched over the years certain ideas take on new names to disassociate themselves from old connotations. It doesn't change the nature of the beast at all, though.

I prefer a universal term like "collectivism" since no associations or connotations have grown up around it (yet). Or in other words, that term is not Politically Correct or Incorrect right now.

But, yes, if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck... it must be a duck. In that regard I completely agree with your observation.

There is in this world today without a doubt a collection of people, whether organized or not, that believe communism hasn't really ever failed but just hasn't been "applied the right way".

Communism, or collectivism is all consuming in its madness. It sounds good on paper but it boils down to the "haves"(politburo) using force and terror to preserve their "stuff" against the "have-nots"(proletariat).

Without the use of martial law, informers, force, threats, maiming, death, and applied terror unto the masses, communism will not work. The only way to extort value out of the masses is to put the boot-heel to the neck of the (usually un-armed) populace.

Yes communism is alive and well in the hearts and minds of the Chomskyite left, the editorial board of the New York Times, as well as on many(too many) college campuses at home and abroad. Living off the hard-earned tax dollars of others.

Communism can't exist without forcing perpetual terror upon it citizens.

this is an excerpt from one of pownmias posts.

Ion Mihai Pacepa, the highest-ranking intelligence officer ever to defect from the Soviet bloc, said of Kerry's anti-American activities during the Vietnam War, "KGB priority number one at that time was to damage American power, judgment and credibility. ... As a spy chief and a general in the former Soviet satellite of Romania, I produced the very same vitriol Kerry repeated to the U.S. Congress almost word for word and planted it in leftist movements."

I think this is very timely considering Kerry campaigners are invading campaign headquarters of Bush and shooting windows out.

Intimidation and fear while spreading hate. Sayin the same lies over and over until we are just used to them.

Terry McCauliffe, Howrd Dean, Kerry, Clinton. Schumer, Kennedy, Boxer, Feinstein, as well as many others along with the press.

What is the end game? Is it Sorros behind it all and what do they want? I'm convinced there is a force that wishes to eliminate our balanced way we have completely. If Kerry gets elected we all ought to look out because I bet Blogs and message forums will be first in the sights of the Kerry admin.

HOW TRUE

Simply put, the only thing that's dead is the ability to see it---as in Soviet Union. They've been infiltrating our government & educational institutions for many decades. Mcarthy may have been drunk but he was a very smart drunk! The collapse of the Soviet Union and trade relations with Dictatorships has served to allow all a free pass into the United States, ie: educational visas, business visas, etc. etc.
