A world in which defeated aggressor nations are allowed to get away with stuff the way Saddam was allowed to for over a decade is a world in a heap of trouble... |
This is why I like Bush....he has established that when we say a missle is on the way....it's comin. |

Great debate. GW was definately more himself and up to his true potential tonight. There were a few "missed opportunities" on a few rebuttals, but the surrogates can drive those points home later. I still think that he needs to hang the UN, France, Germany, and Russia out to dry but I think he made a tactical decision to take the high road, even if it costs him the presidency. After all, he still has a country to run. I thought that as the debate progressed he actually warmed up and continued to improve. He started out a little rusty. I'm surprised that JFingK is still talking about our "alliances" under the circumstances. I think that was the kiss of death for him tonight. That seems to be his plan for everything... and I think the average American really has no interest in bringing the likes of France in to our fold.

I was yelling at the TV... Bush should have nailed him!
At the last question, Kerry repeated his "I will not cede the security... I will not give any country a veto... He left out the GLOBAL test!
Bush should have turned and said. "Ladies and gentleman, even since our last debate, Mr. Kerry has changed his postion. Last week he wanted America's defense to be submitted to a 'global test'. Well the 'gobal test' did not play well in Peoria or America. So now he has changed his postion again to suit the political climate." |

I count 32, so lets make it an even $35.00, 'cause I'm sure he had at least 3 more in him. |
I just sent mine in via the online method. I hope that was right? I had to do it twice since there was no $35.00 option. This will be credited to this thread fund raiser, right?

Naming them in a debate is not diplomatically appropriate. In a way, it would be doing what Kerry did to Prime Minister Allawi. Those things need to be taken care of within the office of the presidency, not as campaign fodder. The whole thing needs to play out a little longer, anyway. It is the difference between a leader and a demogogue and populist like Kerry. |
That's a very good point. |
Unfortunately, that is true. Not that Kerry wouldn't do it in a second if it suited his political ambitions. But... maybe Bush could have pointed out that many thousands of Iraqi children were dying because of the corruption of the oil for food program, because it had become an oil for weapons and palaces program, instead. (I heard 5000 a month, somewhere, but I don't know if that is accurate.)
Also, no reason the information can't be distributed indirectly (ie., not from the White House), with references to "Kerry's would be allies."
Anybody know if there is a listing of some of the more impressive weapons Saddam was able to procure, despite the embargo, in the last 5 years? I know Saddam had the Roland missiles, and other missile parts. Also, Knighthawk said on another thread he saw a 1999 & a 2000 French Mirage fighter in a Iraqi hangar near Tikrit. (He's trying to find out if anyone he knows has pics.) _________________ Paul R. |

Believe this - I think Greta just said viewers have chosen sKerry as the winner tonight...shouldn't all liberals jamming FOX polls be denied no entry, since we all know they wouldn't dare watch that channel! |
