Folks, it appears that this topic is sinking fast. Either elevate the level of discourse and get it back on topic, or it will be locked.

Isn't it amazing how many democrats love McCain? What shocks me is how fast "Jumping Jim" Jeffords got tossed under the bus - Why didn't he get a VP nod?

McCain pulling a Jeffords move is just wishful democratic thinking. He has never done anything or said anything that leads me to think that he intends to do a jump. I do believe McCain made a huge error with the Feingold - McCain finance reform bill.

However, with that move he became a darling of the media that would like to put a muzzle on the candidates so that their own message will have more value and the ability to have a bigger influence in shaping public opinion.

Much of the masses got sucked into this self serving media portrayal of McCain. Underneath all the trappings I believe McCain is a true conservative when it comes to defense issues and will make a great commander & chief. And while we are at war I am willing to put all other issues that divide this country and go after the person who can best serve as commander and chief.
