Those of you who have been around this forum for a while might want to know that Walt Jones passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2004, from complications from chemotherapy for Agent Orange related cancer. His contributions to this forum are listed at http://www.swiftvets.com/phpBB2/search.php?search_author=waltjones

His wife sent me a note saying, in part: "Although the two of you never met, Walt spoke to me of your emails and his “kinship” with another Vietnam Vet who understood how Kerry caused so much harm when you all came home. I will continue to carry on Walt’s message. . . . Bless you for keeping Walt in your prayers during his illness.

d19thdoc, this is just staggering! Please pass along my condolences to his wife and family - I was just looking at our member list and wondering a couple of days ago where he'd been. We have missed him, and will miss him until we all disband and the fight is over.

What a good man he was, and what personality he added to this board - you'd never even know he was sick. We will carry on his fight to make sure that all of America sees the cover of the book that maligned his precious Marine Corps - we can do that much for him.

And we can pray. God comfort his grieving ones and bless them with good memories of him.

Sad news indeed. Walt was a good contributor and a most welcome member of the brotherhood. They keep telling us the war ended so long ago, but as we can see, it is still taking it's victims.

My family and I send our heartfelt condolences to his family. May he rest in eternal peace.

Rest in peace, brother. You went down fighting the good fight, at least. I hope I can do the same. I'm sure Chesty is proud of you.

This is sad news indeed. In the short time I've been acquainted with Walt, he seemed to personify the love, honor and respect for Country and Corps that is so admirable and characteristic of the Service that he so obviously cherished.

Rest well...Marine.

My deepest condolences to Walt's wife, family and friends.

d19thdoc,
Please express the sincere condolences from 2admendsis and myself.
Let's win this one for Walt and all of those REAL Heros that rose to the occasion and carried the load. The Spirit of Real Men will never be left behind, but carried in the hearts of our great people in Uniform today, giving stength and courage.
Another good man, another good name should be on the "Wall".

Gary
