Osama would be Kerry's Attorney General.
Every one would be issued a copy of the Coran and a copy of the Little Red Book. _________________ Top 10 Weasels.com is where Kerry is Weasel #1 |

And a copy of the Quaran for those that aren't hooked on phonics. You and George W will get copies of the coran. |

It always cracks me up that a correction of someone's spelling will almost invariably contain a spelling error.
"No entry found for quaran.
Did you mean quran?"
"Ko·ran or Qur·’an ( P ) Pronunciation Key (k-rn, -rän, kô-, k-)
n.
The sacred text of Islam, considered by Muslims to contain the revelations of God to Muhammad. Also called Alcoran."

You can sit.
And now, can we get back to my question?
Which rights have you lost since the enactment of the Patriot Act? _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~

Privacy mostly. If you read the provisions for the FISA courts and the secret searches, it is pretty scary. Also, they want to build a national database, where everytime you take a plane trip they run your credit report and the like. Luckily the airlines have told them to pound sand.
the Patriot Act is a pretty scary thing that could be greatly misused by the government. When you add a guy like John Ashcroft into the mix, it gets even scarier.
Here is an ACLU release about it. I know you just shook your head, but read it. I think you might actually find it a little scary too, when you remeber people li

This is, without a doubt, the most ridiculous thread I've ever seen posted.
Kyleparr, do yourself a favor and go take a basic course in Civics.
"Kerry Would Replace Ashcroft in First 100 Days"
Funny on two levels, because:
a) Kerry won't be elected;
and
b) If Kerry were the last man standing in the USA, and he elected himself President, Ashcroft would not have a job anyway, as Cabinet members are routinely gone when the outgoing POTUS leaves.
Good grief, for the love of all this is holy, take a class in Civics Kyleparr. |

I've read the Patriot Act and several explanations and analyses of it from a variety of sources, including the ACLU.
There is not a single thing in there that scares me.
And you didn't answer my question.
What rights have you lost since the enactment of any of the parts known commonly and collectively as "the Patriot Act?" _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~

How about my right to move around the country freeely? My right to know what the government is doing in regards to me.
People are never scared of this stuff until they are on the wrong side of it. deleted by moderator
Also, I notice a clear theme of "me first" and "others be damned here". |

I visited each of those sites, once each. I found that it was necessary to slow my mind down to a crawl, and therefore it just wasn't worth wasting the time to listen to the gutter language and the sheer hate being spewed.
For the record, my intent was directed to this thread (the title, the statement made in the original post) is the most ridiculous that I've seen on THIS forum.
Cheers,

You can't move around the country freely? Who's stopping you? Do you have one of those ankle monitors or something?
Have you made inquiries to the government under the FOIA as to what they are doing in regard to you?
And what makes you think they are doing anything in regard to you?
"Me first?"
"Others be damned?"
We're looking at the future and the welfare of our whole country and its citizens... even the misguided ones who freely spout this kind of innuendo and sloganism without even knowing what they're saying.
How is that "me first" and "others be damned?"
I'm doing everything in my power to defend you from a threat which you, in your blind ideology, will not even acknowledge.
It's the safety of my country, our children and grandchildren at stake - never has anything moved me to become active politically until 9-11.
WAKE UP!!!! They have declared war upon us - and war is what they should get, until the earth is cleansed of their fascism. _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~

the fact that you asked this question clearly reveals that you have not read, nor do you understand, the PATRIOT Act. It is not subject to FOIA. |
