An ad about the Veteran's rally might be too long, but possibly a short quote from Pitkin, where he admits having lied to the Senate, and his remark about Kerry threatening not to give him a ride back to Baltimore (from Detroit) could be devastating.
The ad could start with some of Pitkin's 1971 testimony, after Kerry asks him if he has "anything to say". Then Pitkin in 2004, saying that he lied, but was coerced by Kerry.
This would show the American voters that Kerry is extremely manipulative, then used Pitkin's (and others') testimony to justify his statements before the Senate. The ad could end with a voice-over saying,
"John Kerry misled America about the war then. Is he misleading you now?"

I would utilize highlights from the rally...and intercut them with images of himself during the hearings.

This is a great idea ! but I wouldn't 'ask' the question 'Is he misleading you now?' I' d make it a statement !
