In the introduction to the book Unfit For Command it is stated that about 200 Swifties signed the open letter to John Kerry calling for an accounting of his conduct in Vietnam.

The media has hailed Kerry as a hero for his medals awarded in four months of service. The Swifties on the other hand have been labeled as liars.

It would be interesting to know how many medals (Purple Hearts, Bronze Stars, and Silver Stars) these “liars” won and how many months their average service lasted.

Are these numbers available anywhere?

Thanks

I don't know the answer for sure, but I think I can say with confidence that thousands of Viet-Nam veterans earned medals for bravery every day.

A few were even awarded.
