I must admit to mixed feelings here.
While I admire his stand and his viewpoint, I believe that his oath also has a clause about "obeying the lawful orders of those appointed over me".
And until such time as Obama's appointment is officially judged "unlawful", I believe he is appointed "Commander-in Chief", and, as such, should be accorded that obedience.
It's a conundrum, to be sure, the country has never before been in the position of possibly having an imposter in command, and it is a problem which is not going to go away until full disclosure is made.

I should think that the chain of command will chew this guy up, no matter what anyone thinks.

With the authority that comes from command comes responsibility. Refusing to process his request and instead making an example out of a low ranking officer for demanding to know that the authority he follows is legitimate while not providing him an honest answer is cowardice on their part. Considering that his actions during war and any orders HE might give may well be construed as illegal if he is not following a legitimate leader issuing legitimate orders, he is in jeopardy of being charged with war crimes. This matter needs to be resolved for the good order of the entire military as well as to demonstrate to the world that we follow the rule of law, not the rule of men, especially when the potential for a usurper in the White House is at issue. This man's course of action may not be acceptable under the rules, but his request certainly is. Show us your proof of citizenship, Mr. Obama.

2nd U.S. soldier in Iraq challenges eligibility
Says issue could decide if 'we are a Constitutional Republic'

Another U.S. soldier on active duty in Iraq is joining a challenge to President Barack Obama's eligibility to be commander-in-chief, citing WND's report on 1st Lt. Scott Easterling, who has agreed to be a plaintiff in a lawsuit over the issue, as his inspiration.

"I was inspired by 1LT Easterling's story and am writing you to inform you that I would like to be added as a plaintiff against Obama as well if you feel it would help your case," the soldier, identified for this report only as a reservist now on active duty in Iraq.

His letter was directed to California attorney Orly Taitz who, along with her DefendOurFreedoms.us Foundation, is working on a series of legal cases seeking to uncover Obama's birth records and other documents that would reveal whether he meets the requirements of the U.S. Constitution.

Easterling, who confirmed separately to WND that he is questioning Obama's authority, wrote to Taitz that, "As an active-duty officer in the United States Army, I have grave concerns about the constitutional eligibility of Barack Hussein Obama to hold the office of president of the United States."

The second soldier wrote, "I am an Army reservist who was activated last August and am currently serving with a military police battalion in Camp Bucca, Iraq. I will be here until at least June 2009."

He continued, "When I enlisted last year I had to show my birth certificate, as well as my driver's license, high school diploma, college transcripts, social security card; I also filled out loads of paperwork to include listing the names, addresses and phone numbers of my family members and had to answer any questions regarding foreign travel.

"I think it is reasonable for Obama to prove his citizenship status thus certifying his eligibility. I too raised my right hand and swore an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States," he told Taitz. "I believe the case you are filing could very well determine if we are in fact a Constitutional Republic or a nation of mob rule. I would be honored to be a part of your efforts."

Perhaps anticipating a wave of outrage from Obama supporters, he asked that he be given no "unnecessary publicity," although his name eventually would become public when a case is filed.

Taitz told WND she was making contingency plans that could include her travel to Iraq should a military case be brought against the soldiers who are speaking their minds about Obama.

"I told him if there is any prosecution, he can get in touch with me. I would even fly to Iraq and work with the attorney there to provide his defense," she told WND.

She said undoubtedly a part of the defense would be a demand for documentation on Obama's actual qualifications to serve as U.S. president.

I like this soldiers passion, but he is wrong.

We have a chain of command and checks and balances. The supreme court swore Obama in and that is the check. He must follow his chain of command, unless he is asked to perform a criminal duty.

The German Field Marshall Erwin Rommel is a good subject to study in this regard. He followed Hitler until he knew for certain he was committing criminal actions. Rommel had all telegraphs sent to him while in Afrika personally delivered to him by a trusted officer, rather than the SS political attached officer, once he learned of Hitler killing Jewish people. Had the SS found this out, he would have been killed on the spot.

He survived Afrika and many British and American POW's and their families owe their lives to him as a result.

For those that do not know - Rommel was given orders by Hitler to kill all of his POW's. Rommel burned the orders and set all of his POW's free with water and food. He then returned to Germany. Hitler would soon kill him.

GenrXr, I appreciate your passion as well. In the Dred Scott decision, the Supreme Court declared that black slaves were property. Sometimes the SCOTUS gets it wrong. It took a civil war to overturn that bad decision. Let's hope it doesn't take another one to get to the bottom of this issue.

We need to be watching the telegraphs as Rommel did.

Maybe we just need the truth from Obama.

Quote:
Major general says president's eligibility needs proof
'Most important, what I really want is the truth'

Instead, a series of law firms have been hired on Obama's behalf around the nation to prevent any public access to his birth certificate, passport records, college records and other documents.

The courts seem to be fond of ruling that no one had the 'Standing' to challenge Obama's citizenship qualifications.
Perhaps they will give some weight to men who must put their lives on the line following his orders. Surely if anyone has 'Standing' they should.
Has to be a reason why he will not allow any of his documentation to be made public.
When you fight this hard to keep things a secret, there is usually a reason.

If Obama can thwart the Constitution on eligibility, then he can also thwart the constitution on term limits.
I do not trust this socialist SOB and I pray for his utter failure. I also pray that our nation can survive his recklessness until the next election.

I completely agree! Plus, will we be able to undo the damage he is causing, even after he's seen for the socialist that he is.

We managed to survive the Great Depression and the New Deal. Our country is tough and Real Americans don't surrender. We might all be eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for 4 or 5 years, but we've survived Democrats before.

I agree Buffalo! a very sad thing to find our country in this state... and he's moving like a bulldozer to put things in place so he can do whatever he darn well pleases.

Interesting legislation being proposed, that would

"require presidential candidates to provide a birth certificate and other documents to prove their eligibility to occupy the Oval Office"

One proposed by a FLA Rep in the US Congress likely to go nowhere...

Missouri
has a bill too though. Maybe the show-me state will come..

We can hope anyway....
be a hoot if it passed and was in place for ToTUS's re-election try.
